Santa Margherita Agriturismo e BELLA!!

What a beautiful, comfortable, charming place! The grounds are accessible and offer a variety of farm animals, groves, unbelievable vistas and fresh water. The rooms are lovely with housekeeping impeccably cleaning every other day. The food is deliciously bountiful, taken from the farm itself. Morning breakfast is filled with beautiful cakes and breads along with meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, eggs, freshly squeezed juice...incredible! Dinner is a four course event every night complete with all the wine you can drink. The staff is fantastic with Claudia as the super hostess. We were in contact from the start of our family journey and Claudia guided us every step of the way. Not to mention, the views are to die for! All in all, my family of sixteen, had the time of our lives and will most definitely be returning. Thank you to all the Santa Margherita staff and owners...you are amazing.

Great place, great holidays

Wonderful location with the view of the Eolian islands, it has a superb park where to enjoy long walks while watching the farm animals (amongst the usual horses, donkeys, goats, pigs, chickens, doves, rabbits and peacocks are to be found about 200 deers and several ostriches). Rooms are very clean and you also enjoy an amazing open swimming pool during summer. We had chosen for half board and we enjoyed the typical sicilian cuisine with local products, fresh home made pasta and bread, mostly produced in the farm, and served always with a smile by very young and professional staff. Wonderful breakfast with delicious home baked cakes and pastries. If you like nature, amazing views and good food it is the place to be.

Edone Agriturismo

In the middle of the Natural Park of the Alcantara Gorge, between Etna volcano and Nebrodi mountains and a few kilometers from the beautiful Taormina and Giardini Naxos, Agriturismo Tenuta Edone is a historical mansion of the late '800 recently renovated, chosen by Francis Ford Coppola as the setting of some scenes of "The Godfather". It is a unique accommodation where a mix of tradition, taste and relax creates a unique and inimitable tourist experience. A refined architectural style , an amazing natural landscape and a typical Sicilian welcome are the ingredients that will not forget. We want to give you the "welcome home", we want to make you feel at home.

Perfect B&B close to Taormina

Reviewed By fideba

We booked a last minute two night stay for me, my wife and two teenagers. Once we found the place (hint: if you GPS fails, just use Google Maps on your phone), we were immediately greeted by Nina, our host, who must be the standard where all B&B are measured against :-) She was simply perfect, always friendly, never pushy, nothing was too much. The property itself is amazing, in a super quiet environment, spotless, and very tastefully decorated. We've dined twice at the B&B, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Don't expect fine dining, but honest tasty food. The only "negative" thing I could think of, is that the airco was very noisy. We've fixed it by putting a chair against it, which stopped the thing from vibrating. But without any doubt, Nina would have found a solution if we asked. Very highly recommended !

Agriturismo Il Gelsomino Ritrovato

Relaxing host, good breakfast, excellent value for money

Reviewed By Eleanor C

Craving a hotel with a pool back on mainland Sicily (after a week on Stromboli with no pool) before flying home, I booked this place at the last minute and it was just what I needed. While "agriturismo" can encompass a whole range of accommodation styles, this is a friendly B&B, attached to a campsite, rather than a designer chic country house boutique hotel (a la Masseria Susafa). The Gelsomino Ritrovato would suit families looking for a relaxed budget-friendly holiday, better than couples looking for a romantic getaway where they could be pampered in luxury. The accommodation was basic but comfortable enough. I was in the yellow room which has a double bed, bunkbeds, desk, reasonable amounts of storage for clothes and a fridge, and an ensuite shower room. The room had aircon. I had no problem picking up wifi in my room (to check for flight updates). Negatives about the room: slightly bizarre that in the bathroom, the shelf for the shower gel was over 6 foot above ground, as was the bracket to support the shower head (on a flexible hose). Odd where the bathroom had hand rails where they were clearly trying to make it more accessible to those with limited mobility. Sound insulation between the 2 rooms in the building could be better (I could hear a tap dripping next door). Alessandro is a very welcoming host. Although I had to check out of the room at 10.30 am, he said I could stay and use the swimming pool all day, use the campsite shower afterwards, and borrow a towel if needed. I had a lovely relaxing day by the pool, which was a perfect temperature, though would benefit from more frequent dead bug skimming. Breakfast was also above average for Italy (much as I love Italy, I just can't face the whole cakes and tarts at 8 am thing!) I had delicious fried eggs with cheese (bacon was also on offer) and bread, as well as a fresh croissant, juice (the usual carton rather than fresh blood orange), toasts and jam and better-than-average-for-an-Italian-hotel-breakfast coffee. The swordfish I had at dinner was very nicely cooked, after a ginormous bowl of seafood pasta which I couldn't finish, washed down with the house white (a very generous jugful, though it would have been better chilled). Dinner was finished with a shot of limoncello as I watched the sun go down from the outdoor dining area. Complimentary transport to and from either Milazzo station or port was also very welcome. Although the accommodation was basic, I thought it very good value for money. I paid 75 Euros via Booking.com for dinner (with very generous quantity of wine, and a shot of limoncello afterwards), bed and breakfast.

Worst traveling experience ever - STAY AWAY

Reviewed By Anders B

These people are horrible. I booked a night at their place but when we arrived late at night the place was full and they tried to convince us to stay in one of the worker's small flat in the village below for the same. When we did not agree and we told them it was an unprofessional way of doing things they became abusive and aggressive. We left the place at 11PM with them shouting at us in the background, threatening to call the police on us. These guys should be put out of business. They really don't understand how to treat guests. Rude and inconsiderate. My best advise to others is to STAY AWAY

Good rooms with airco on a very hot Sicily in this agriturismo. The owner (Francesco) is friendly and a good cook of local food. All the food is home made, including his simple but good red wine and is very good malvasia desert wine with cinnamon biscuits. WiFi is free and good.

Warm welcome and wonderful food

Reviewed By Carol_Ian3

We were made very welcome by Sebastiano who showed us his vegetables and nut trees on a walk down to the river at the bottom of the farm. We picked wild asparagus, which he made a tasty pasta with that evening. Another night he treated us to his first broad beans in a purée as part of the antipasti with local cheeses and his own pickled vegetables. As well as the delicious evening meals he made, Sebastiano bought in fresh bread and hazelnut biscuits for breakfast to go with his homemade jams. Our bed was large and comfortable with a great shower and towels/toiletries. There are lots of books about local walks and nature in the Nebrodi which we used. We really enjoyed our stay for three days at Fontana Pietra - thank you so much, Sebastiano.
