Naturalis Bio Resort & Spa

Exclusive Masseria in the heart of Salento in Puglia, in a 18th-century farming village. Naturalis Bio Resort & Spa is a natural paradise surrounded by more than 18 hectars of bio diversity and by typical drystone walls. It is protected by majestic century-old olive trees. In 2012 the old farming village was transformed into a charming Resort, thanks to a careful and detailed renovation, not a simply restoration, but a real philological action of bio-architecture, made with love, to enhance the original and typical structures of the Salentinian tradition.

An Oasis of Peace and Beauty Immersed In Nature

Reviewed By virginiav2311

This place is a dream! My husband and I (and our doggy) spent one night in this "agriturismo": a former farm turned into boutique hotel. The reception area used to be the landlord house, while the rooms used to host the farmers. Everything has been restored in style, so it truly feels like an immersive throwback to another era. The rooms are gorgeous: amazing vintage and antique furniture combined with a jacuzzi with chromotherapy, right in front of the bed. We also had a lovely private patio. The peculiarity of an "agriturismo" is that the majority of food and products are produced in site. We tasted delicious oil, wine, honey, fruit, veggies, marmelades, bread, and lots of herbs - such as aloe, lavander, rosemary, thyme, sage, and more, all grown (with love!) in the beautiful land that surrounds the rooms. Naturalis is also a cosmetics brand: they make fantastic aloe and essential oils-based cosmetics. I appreciated the samples package that was gifted to us at check-out, but I also bought a couple of anti-age creams, which are great! The staff is super professional, on point, kind, and very welcoming. Everyone is also very knowledgeable of every aspect of the property and the business. The rooms are super clean and well curated. There's also a pool, an outdoor bar and dining area, and a spa. I've got an holistic massage that was so good I pretty much fell asleep at the end! One night is definitely not enough! This is a place where I think you should spend at least 3 nights to really enjoy the beauty, the tranquility and the services it offers. Naturalis Bio Resort is also a good location to be based at, while doing daily trips around the Salento area of Puglia. Super recommended!

One of the best places to stay in Puglia

Reviewed By Mark H

Pam and I stayed here for four wonderful days earlier this month and enjoyed every moment. From the time we stepped out of our car and greeted by Giusefina to the moment we bid farewell. Located about 30 minutes drive from Lecce, this farmhouse is family run and it shows, with nothing too much trouble. Husband Gianfranco busys himself working around the farm as well as having another job. The lodgings are comfortable and spacious. The bathroom is typically Italian with a small shower. We booked for bed and breakfast but ate there every night. It has a local reputation for both fine food and the best pizza around. The staff are always busy each night the outside dining area was packed! They were run off their feet from opening til closing. Locals dined in the Italian fashion, turning up around 9.00pm with their kids. The school holidays had just commenced so there were no qualms in keeping them up late. The food ranged from simple pizzas up to tasty seafood. You could pick a menu to suit your budget. When holidaying in Puglia be prepared to speak more Italian than you're used to on the west coast. This is where Italians go to holiday so there is some expectation here. Also, one tip when travelling by car would be to study the roads carefully, use Google Maps and even Google Earth, as we got caught a few times with descriptions of "quaint" villages which were in fact medium density towns. If you're looking for a quiet farm stay holiday within reach of lots of great Italian history and supremely friendly people, then this is the place to stay!

Avoid at all costs.

I stayed on Zio Zac Agriturismo for 10 weeks at the end of 2019. I thought i was working there but have since been told that i was in fact a guest so I feel it is my consumer responsibility to review this business. On the surface and i am sure to many that stay there for a little while it might seem like a paradise. My stay was at the end of the tourist season and into the winter and I was most shocked to find that they abuse and neglect their animals to the most sadistic levels when the tourists are gone, injured animals are refused care and left to die after being torn apart by Zac their dog. This happened to foals, lambs and goats during my stay. In addition to this it seems that the father Reno likes to touch women and girls in places that he shouldn't and that he intimidates his staff with physical abuse. All of whom are so desperate for work or a place to live they say nothing. They grow weed, maintaining it is for personal use but then a lot of people come and buy it in large quantities. The food in the restaurant is poor quality, the beds are uncomfortable and my advice is to not stay or visit here. They are for sure involved with making contributions to illegal organisations via money laundering and if you value your money or have any morals you will not go to this place. I hope it gets shut down. The owners are some of the most evil and corrupt people i have ever met.

One letdown on a fantastic self guided bike tour of the Puglia

Reviewed By Combins

We stayed one night late in October and were the only guests. Arriving late afternoon we were taken to a room far from the reception area. The welcome lacked the warmth we were used to in other places we stayed in southern Italy. I walked over to the main building to ask to have the heating turned on in the room as it was very cold and was told no heating till November...we were offered a blanket. I went back again to ask for wifi to be told that it only works in the main building ....it turned out there is just one place outside the main building you can log on. The mini bar in the room was empty. We were far from town and on bikes so were obliged to eat in the hotel restaurant. There was one other diner from outside the hotel. Prior to entering the dining area there was a sitting room....armchairs were covered with plastic dust sheets. No offer of a welcome drink ..or even a request as to whether we wanted to order an aperitif. Overall, we had the impression that our late arrival at the end of the holiday season was not welcome. This stay was the only blot on an otherwise fantastic trip around the region.

Agriturismo Santa Croce

The 'Farm House Agostinello is a reference point for those visiting the Salento and prefer the hustle and bustle of the city, a relaxing stay between the sounds and colors of the countryside. Wide is the outdoor space surrounding the house as befits places like these; the company offers to its customers within a farm that produces olive oil, comfortable rooms with bathroom, air conditioning, heating and TV. It also has a restaurant where you can prepare simple dishes, typical of the Salento.

Relaxing and Delightful!

This Agriturismo was fantastic! The room, actually a small apartment, was cozy, roomy, and comfortable. It was well equipped with a full kitchen too. We went with our two dogs and specifically chose this place because it was pet friendly. There is large fenced area that is just for animals - you can play in there too! The surrounding area is walkable and very quiet. The proprietor brought a simple local breakfast each morning. There are nice restaurants within a short drive and it is close to Perugia. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely go back! (BTW - we were actually there in Sept 2017)
