I never take the time to write a review because I am never really impressed. Jordan Private Tours changed my mind! I was blown away by their flexibility to change things and their quick response, not to mention they allowed us to customize our private tour and their friendliness! My husband and I travelled to Jordan in late April 2021 and had Ja’far Iskek as our guide and driver throughout our visit. We visited Amman, Jarash, Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea. Throughout, Ja'far provided great insight into the history of the areas and took care of us. He also provided cold water bottles in the car and not to mention WIFI in the car as well. Visiting Joran was definitely a trip of a lifetime! We will cherish our memories forever! Thank you so much for the hospitality. I highly recommend Jordan Private Tours and Ja'far Iskek! Thanks!

The Dead Sea is 75 kilometers long and from 6 to 16 kilometers wide. It is fed by the Jordan River, but it has no outlet. As its name suggests, the Dead Sea is entirely devoid of plant and animal life. This is due to an extremely high content of salt and other minerals—350 grams of salt per kilogram of water, as compared to about 40 grams in the world’s oceans. This concentration is caused by a rapid rate of evaporation. These natural elements give the waters of the Dead Sea certain curative properties, recognized since the days of Herod the Great over 2000 years ago.

An excellent tour visiting Madaba, Mt Nebo and the Dead Sea - exceeded our expectations. All tour entries were covered and driver was knowledgeable and spoke English well - note they do not accompany you through the sites. Most pleasing, and not obvious in their website overview is that lunch and swimming in the Dead Sea is at a private hotel on the Dead Sea. Lunch was a superb spread in the restaurant overlooking the Dead Sea, and change rooms and showers were good. Swimming in the Dead Sea was a fantastic experience. A great day out. Only downside is that communication with the tour group is very difficult - we did not receive notification of a change of start time of 2 hours until 15 minutes beforehand. We had actually started to book another tour through our hotel - luckily we were able to cancel this at no penalty. Emails beforehand to clarify details of the tour went unanswered.

Morning pick up from Amman hotel, drive north to Jerash (Gerasa), one of the Roman Decapolis the best-preserved city outside Roman and visit its theaters, temples, churches and colonnaded streets. And then drive down to Rabad Castle (Ajloun Castle) you will visit the Islamic military castle of Ajloun, the castle was used by the Islamic armies of Saladin to protect the region against the crusaders. Then you will begin the one-hour drive to the Dead Sea. Being the lowest point on earth and filled with a variety of minerals with medicinal properties the site has developed into a health spa-like hotspot. The mineral concentration in the mud is used for therapeutic and beauty treatments. Queen Cleopatra and Sheba both were said to have known the value of the site and used it. Due to high salinity, the water supports no form of life hence the name the Dead Sea and floating is very easy. Be sure to prepare to swim and relax in the mud before heading back to Amman.

Exclusions: Lunch, Gratuities, Entry Fees to Sites

The Dead Sea : The Dead Sea is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east and Israel and the West Bank to the west. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley, and its main tributary is the Jordan River.
