My review is not about how good the Private VIP tour is because we did not have a chance to take this tour due to Port lock down. We made a booking for a Private VIP tour for 8 of us who will be visiting Nuku'alofa on our South Pacific cruise on the Maasdam. The booking process was very smooth and informative. The tour company notified us in February that Tonga has closed its port to cruise ship. We (the tour company and us) hope that things will get better in March and the ship will be allowed to dock in Tonga. A few days before we were due to arrive in Tonga, the tour company notify us that our ship will not be permitted to dock in Tonga and that a refund will be given back to us for the VIP tour that we booked. The refund was processed quickly without any issue. I would definitely book with this company again in the future if we get a chance to go to Tonga. My special thanks to Sandra who kept us updated in different times. Hope the tour company can ride out the bad travel time caused by CVID-19.

Sometimes communication poor as owner often in Australia. On last day we were honest and went to the office in town and paid our balance as staff had no idea we still owed money. I emailed the owner but got no thank you. Our guide was shy but a lovely warm person who wanted to help us as much as possible. She has wonderful potential for Teta Tours and an asset worth training for bigger things. Our driver kept to the speed limit and never got lost. Somethings could improve to make this 5 star. At all pick ups they we late between 7 minutes to 22 minutes so this needs attention as they should really arrive 5 minutes early so guests (and hotel staff) do not start panicking. Suggest driver reduce conversations on politics as I was interested but when he stated that Hitler was justified in killing all the people in the gas chamber I was shocked as even Germans are ashamed this happened. At this point I disagreed with the driver, went quiet and then changed the subject but my mood changed from that moment being more careful what was said. Overall I would recommend Teta Tours as they have an office in town, know there staff and fulfilled our plans.

I organised a tour for our cruise ship passengers in Feb 2020. We had a group of 22 people. I found Tomasi very easy to deal with while organising the day. We had an island bus and travelled to sights on both sides of the island, finishing off at Anahulu cave for a refreshing swim, after a fresh fruit lunch. The cave is an intersting experience, you need to be careful walking down as the pathways are just cut from the rock and can be slippery, but jumping in to the water was just great. Our young local guide told us lots of stories of the customs on the island. The only disadvantage was as the local buses do not have a speaker system, sometimes those at the rear of the bus found it a little hard to hear, but from all accounts people thoroughly enjoyed the day

We were staying at the Tanoa Dateline Hotel and through their in-house tour company Hibiscuss Tours, we took a $120 top per person, 5 hour guided tour around the island. The tour included Captain Cook landing, Terraced Tombs, , Village fishing pigs, Ha’amonga (Stonehenge), Natural Land bridge, Abel Tasman Landing, Flying Fox colony, Tsunami Rock, Blow holes, Three headed coconut palm tree but we didn’t go to the Anahulu Cave (didn’t want to!) which was also included. Sake was a good guide though some more history would have been welcome. Lunch was BBQ chicken bought at someone’s house and eaten on a roadside table later on. Tropical refreshments was a bottle of water. Sake did offer answers to all our questions on Island life and his commentary and thoughts were much appreciated. The van we went around in was a tad tired and dirty as were most of the sites that we visited – not his fault obviously, merely a reflection on Tongan standards
