Great stay
Reviewed By nicklasbhWe stayed for a total of 5 nights in a fan bungalow, and really liked it. Bailan is a nice a quiet town, with not too much going on but we love this. There are a few nice restaurants nearby, as well as massage and laundry service. We rented a scooter at the Green Cottage, not far from the guesthouse. The best thing about our bungalow was to open the windows in the morning, and lie in bed and look out at the sea. The restaurant makes very good food, but it is in no way a professional kitchen, as they cook one dish at the time, and it takes a while for food to come out. However we do not mind the wait, because the setting is very cozy and the food is very good. We ate at the restaurant many times and tried a new dish every time, and the food was good every time. Even though there is no sandy beach, I still went swimming every day. There is a stairway from the restaurant to the sea. You can use snorkeling equipment for free. They also have some rubber bathing shoes, which I use a lot, because you have to walk on some rocks to go swimming. The guesthouse has a golden retriever who loves to swim, and I found it nice to swim with the dog. If you decide to walk or drive to one of the neighboring towns, then you will see many monkeys in the roadside? All in all, then we will return to this guesthouse if we come back to koh Chang.

Reviewed By flitterfeverSlechtste restaurant waar we in twee weken gegeten hebben. Inspiratieloos eten en personeel, wat een misser. Varkensvlees droog en gele curry proefde meer naar poeder ei dan wat anders. Doodzonde want prima plekje. Slippers uit bij ingang! Zonde geld.

Reviewed By Henriette Rwe had a great bungalow, facing the garden and the sea, everything was easygoing and sweet. Ste staff was so nice, and we had a great time at Klong Kloi Cottages. The restaurant was fine and the views from the beach stunning. And it was close to everything, yet away from the touristy husle and bustle.

Riverview Hostel is a new stylish hostel located in Koh Chang, Thailand. Situated directly on the stunning, peaceful Klong Prao River Estuary, guests can enjoy spectacular views of the river and downstream to the ocean. We are within a few minutes from some of the most beautiful beaches on the island and very close to all local amenities, bars and restaurants.

Good for budget traveler

Located on Kai Bae beach where you can easily find food, 7-11, convenient shop, tour desk, pharmacy, 100 meters from main street into the small road. Quiet, private, beautiful beach and extremely friendly staffs. There are separated rooms with balcony and provides both fan room or AC room. No TV, good for traveler who love quiet place. Free Wifi that u can entertain yourself to the social if you want. When I stay, I rent a motorbike and parked at front area, the gasoline was stolen, I have informed staff then they apologized and told us it never happened before. We understood and really thanked to them for concerning us. They set up CCTV suddenly. Of course, I will return to stay here again and again.

Watch out at the time of booking...
Reviewed By Dom21076I thought I had rented one of the small yet nice looking bungalows shown on the presentation photos. It was the only choice left on the site so I proceeded with the booking. Probably a little too fast though, as we ended-up in a small detached construction with basic comfort (definitely not what I had expected). The place was "cheap". I guess I pretty much got what I paid for as - in retrospect - the price was indeed cheap too (according to Ko Chang's standard at that time of the year): very basic accommodation with a fan, average/not great bedding, super small bathroom, OK WiFi. The other bungalows at Alisa's look much better. I would advise potential visitors to not make the mistake I made and ensure they are going for the bungalow of their choice at the time of booking... probably worth spending a few baht more.

Reviewed By L8099ARlaurajWhere do I even start. We booked this very last minute after we took a trip to Patong and wanted somewhere relaxed and luxurious to stay... we were not disappointed! First of all the staff, Fon was our main host throughout our stay and she couldn’t do enough for us. So polite and helpful, very informative and just faultless in all she did. Upon arrival we were greated with complimentary drinks after having our luggage taken for us. Our villa wasn’t quite ready as we turned up 3 hours early so we were given a beautiful bungalow to relax in whilst we waited. We were then taken to our villa where we were welcomed with an array of fresh fruit which we were told would be prepared upon our request by their chef which we had done later that day and it was just divine! The room was presented beautifully, flowers and decorative towels, aircon on so we walked into refreshing rooms. The fridge was stocked with complimentary water, soft drinks and even some beverages. Our balcony consisted of 2 sun lounges and an infinity pool complete with water jets and also lighting for the evening. The bathroom was equipped with absolutely everything you could ever need such as toothbrushes, towels, shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, gowns, slippers... the list goes on. The villa was exceptionally clean and was also cleaned AND tidied daily when we were out regardless of how late or early we chose to leave for the day, and if we were to have a day in, they would ask what time suited us. Fon let us know about the scooters that they had available to hire (a must around the island) for just 600baht for 2 days (less than £9 per day) and she had these delivered to our door for us. Breakfast was made fresh to order every morning with a wide choice of fresh fruits, yogurts, omelette, all different styles of eggs, cooked meats and smoothies as well as teas, coffees and fruit juices. We sat eating breakfast every morning watching the waves on the private, secluded beach just metres in front of us. If you didn’t wish to travel far for food, there was a restaurant just over the road from our villa searving delicious food morning till night, we ate there almost everyday as it gave us no reason to travel elsewhere for it. They also provided us with access to sea kyaks throughout our stay, totally free of charge which we took advantage of almost daily as it’s such a relaxing way to sit out on the sea and enjoy the spectacular views. Without fail, staff would come and assist us in getting the kyaks to the entry point and help get us out onto the water as well as meeting us upon our return to put them back for us. Free hotel transfers were arranged by Fon, to and from the pier where we got our boat from. I am not normally one to leave reviews, this is probably my 3rd one in my life (the other 2 have been for awful stays elsewhere) but I couldn’t leave this beautiful place without telling you all about it. The price we paid was so small compared to what this place could charge... it is 5* luxury and believe me when I have stayed at some of the most luxurious hotels in the world, so I do not make that comment lightly. If you are visiting the beautiful island of Koh Yao Yai, make sure you choose this fantastic venue. Thank you again to all of the staff who made this trip truly wonderful! We will most certainly be back!
