If you’re looking to experience local culture with local people, this is for you! My friend and I had. A wonderful time shopping at the market with Lutfia, touring the spice farm in her village, and cooking a wonderful meal full of food that she makes regularly for her family. We felt very at home, and learned so much about different plants, herbs, spices and fruits that are native to Zanzibar, sampling each as we toured the farm. The cooking experience was very interactive, where you learn to cook the way local people do - sitting on the floor, using a coconut chair to shred coconut to make fresh coconut milk, and cooking everything over fire and hot coals. This was among the best meals we had in Zanzibar, and we were grateful to be shown this experience.
