Reviewed By WorldTraveler639We enjoyed our stay at Abittare. The staff if super friendly and the location is super for walking to all of the top tourist sights. The room did get cold at night so we appreciated having our own mini heater in the room. The only real downside was the noise. The rooms overlook a courtyard so you can hear pretty much everything. Even when people aren’t being loud, you can still hear their conversations and room doors opening and closing, so it can be hard to sleep if you’re sensitive to noise.

great place for family in Cusco
Reviewed By DCoHegOur family, 2 adults 3 kids, stayed in Casona la Recoleta apartment in April 2022 for a week. This was ideal for us as the 3 teenagers had their own beds in loft and my wife and I had the downstairs bedroom. The place had a lot of character, small kitchen, hot shower, good beds and a living area. each day we received fruit and basic breakfast. each night a gentleman came to light our fire - nice touch. What was best was the location in Cusco - we were 5 or 10 minutes walk from Plaza de Armas - as we were so close to everything. The people in the hotel were very nice and professional at front desk. The place was cleaned each day and they did a nice job. I would recommend any friends of ours visiting Cusco to stay in this hotel.

Wonderful, homey place to stay in Cusco

Edar and his family made sure that we had everything we needed during our stay and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Breakfasts were homemade and always delicious. They had some great suggestions for where to eat and things to do around Cusco which we enjoyed. It's a little further away from the central touristy spots than the bigger hotels but still a very easy walk to get to everything. Each room is expansive and apartment-style and a very comfortable place to relax during any down time. Highly recommend!

Cold with no electricity
Reviewed By davionsamuelsI would not recommend staying in this place I couldn't wait to leave and I was there for only 2 nights the hotel was very cold when complain they brought 2 space heater that made no difference as the rooms were so spacious because we were running the heater to get the place warm up a bit we had a electricity block out and was told by the front desk that we are consuming too much energy I would just avoid this place all together the staff are nice but too many problems rooms are very nice and spacious but management need to make a serious investment and upgrade the heating system of this place even the water was cold

We are a company that offers fully equipped apartments in the city of Cusco, our apartments are characterized by being fully equipped, and with all the amenities to have a pleasant stay in the city of Cusco, all our apartments have 3 comfortable bedrooms (2 double rooms, and a double room), we have a living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, laundry, we have an elevator, concierge 24 hours a day, hot water 24 hours a day, Internet with WIFI, and cable TV. We have parking (with an additional daily cost) and we are located 10 minutes from the main square.

The administrator, Maxi was very welcoming and helpful during out stay. Highly recommended if what you are looking is value for money.

Reviewed By guguteThe best thing about this place is friendly staff. The only problem is that except for the manager who is rarely there nobody speaks English. Which can be ovecome using google translate as we did. The wifi is different in reception from the one in the rooms so best get your info before coming to reception. They offer same day laundry service which was really cheap and was very handy considering we did many hikes and day long treks while we stayed here. Breakfast buffet is good (Peruvian bread rolls are amazing) and fresh orange juice every morning was very tasty. Now on to things that were not that good. Rooms. At a glance the place is clean and tidy however there is no heating in the hotel and it gets very cold at nights so bring warm PJs or fleecy tops because those oil heaters in the rooms do not make much difference. The shower in our room never worked properly. It was either scalding hot or very cold and we always ended up with flooded bathroom floor. There are no bath mats. The towels are not changed every day unless you specifically ask, and since there is no heating they don't really dry. Even when we asked for the clean towels and toilet paper we had to go and remind reception in the evening that those were still missing from the room. There were some exposed wires and pipes in the tiny bathroom so health and safety is not something they worry about. The paint on the bathroom ceiling was peeling in massive flakes, stuff was hanging off the walls as if it was all fitted in a very rushed manner. We stayed in the 3 bedroom flat and the kitchen was large and comfortable, however there is no hot water in the kitchen so washing up required us to boil some water. The most annoying moment was the day of the departure when we were greeted at the breakfast table in the morning, the lady asked if it was our last day in Cusco etc etc. Then two hours later we went to reception to ask to call us a taxi to the airport, only to be told there were no taxis. Nor buses. It turned out, Cusco was on strike and all the roads were barricaded and traffic free. It was decided to go ahead with the strike the night before and we had no warning at all from the hotel. We ended up having to walk to the airport from the hotel which took just over an hour. We were told that unless we watched some local news chanel we wouldn't have known about the strike (and we didn't). However it was extremely disappointing that the hotel staff did not think of mentioning it to us at all. The lady even suggested we cancelled our flights and re-book them! Thanks to google maps we figured out we were only an hour away from the airport so walking was an option. Overall a rather disappointing hotel. It could be so much better with a little work and time invested in it but that doesn't seem to be something the management is bothered about.

Not very much hot water or heater

You have to turn it on and get wet, turn the water off, lather up, and then turn it back on to rinse off. Also the apartment is extremely cold. Colder than outside and you will be charged $10 per day if you request a heater. If you do request, you will be provided a small space heater that does provide much. The expectation could have been set better. Based off the listing, my expectations were higher.
