Had a fantastic night at the laughterhiuse comedy and so week looked after by the most lovely hostess Cal Cairns. Fab service at the bar and the acts were amazing real proper belly laughs. Word of advice don’t go to heckle as the amazing comedien Chris Cairns is no lightweight he will shoot you down verbally and leave you speechless !!! I had tears rolling down my face with laughter. They handled the crowd so well as it was a difficult stag do in the front row but no task to small for chris as he showed them exactly how it’s done. Brilliant night out. Highly recommend a visit. Will definitely go back.

Liverpool Philharmonic

The original Liverpool Philharmonic Hall opened on 27 August 1849, and was an acclaimed and integral part of the cultural life of Liverpool before being dramatically destroyed by fire in 1933.The present day art-deco Philharmonic Hall, designed by architect Herbert Rowse and built on the same site, was officially opened on Monday 19 June 1939. Today it presents on average 250 events each year, of which approximately 70 are concerts by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and sells over 250,000 tickets annually. The venue has an illustrious tradition of bringing the top names from rock, jazz, classical, folk and roots, classical and contemporary music to Liverpool. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Buddy Holly all appeared at the Hall during their careers. The Hall also hosts classic and blockbuster films and premieres, shown on the unique Walturdaw rising cinema screen with Merseyside's only resident theatre organist, Dave Nicholas. Our new space in the building, the delightfully intimate and informal Music Room, has its own entrance on Sugnall Street, and houses jazz, roots, folk and unplugged gigs. Liverpool Philharmonic has been working with schools and the community since the 1940s, and the Learning programme now offers a range of exciting and inspirational opportunities to get involved in live music-making of the highest quality for thousands of people every year in the Hall and throughout the region.

An iconic landmark, St Luke's 'Bombed Out' Church has been at the heart of Liverpool since 1832. Since 2007 the church has been operating as a managed ruin and multidisciplinary arts venue with a programme of curated events, community engagement and creative learning projects. A gateway building within the city, crucial to both its past and present, the Bombed Out Church is a place for everyone. A committed team from diverse backgrounds have devoted tens of thousands of hours to keeping St Luke's Church open to the public and reinvigorated by the arts. A cracking little music venue, now only happy memories of great nights listening to rock music. A real shame, another nail into the heart of St Helen's.
