Would you like to see a different side of Kilimanjaro? Would you like to visit a coffee farm and help make a pot of coffee from scratch?! If the answer is yes then this is the route for you. About two hours outside of Arusha is the village of Materuni, home of the Materuni waterfalls made up of snow run-off from Kilimanjaro. It's an easy half hour walk to see the falls. After viewing and possibly swimming in the falls, return to the village and experience how coffee is made. Members of the Chaga tribe will show you where the coffee is grown and you will help make the best cup of coffee you have ever tasted! You will help grind it, roast it, sift it, and finally drink it. As you are approaching Moshi keep your eyes open because every so often the clouds part and you can catch a glimpse of the iconic Mt. Kilimanjaro! My favorite tour ever!

Inclusions: Lunch, Bottled water, Private transportation, All Fees and Taxes

Exclusions: Use of bicycle, Alcoholic Beverages

Had a lovely relaxing day after a bumpy ride getting there. Not hot water, but very refreshing. Little fish nibble at your dead skin! Loved it.

This is a typical itinerary for a full day coffee and waterfall tour in Arusha, where you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Arusha town and drive to Tengeru Cultural Tourism Programe. From here you’ll be briefed by the guides who have been in coffee business for over five years and knows everything there is to know about the cultivation, harvest and processing of coffee. On the coffee farm one will only find the fine Arabica coffee that grows best on high altitudes with a lot of rain. Arusha, laying at 1400m above sea level, Moshi and Ngorongoro are therefore Arabica-coffee favorable areas. And its the only tour that you'll be in contact with locals and get a chance of learning their lifestyle.

Everyone loves coffee. But how is it grown and processed? Tanzania is exporting coffee and many people are working with it so you can enjoy it. On our trip you will learn the long journey of the coffee from seed to cup. The farm delivering coffee to us is all organic and Fairtrade. Why is that important? Usually the farmers gets a low payment for the coffee. Sometimes its not enough to get their children to school. We pay the farmers 3 times the normal price. The coffee trees are not sprayed with any chemicals making it safer for the farmer and more healthy for us drinking the end product. Dont miss this opportunity to learn about coffee.

Inclusions: Lunch, Private transportation, Donation to the coffee farm group, 1 bag of your favorite coffee

We absolutely loved the Coffee Walk! Our guide Samwel was wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about him- friendly, outgoing, incredibly knowledgeable about the area and plants (he grew up there!). It was really interesting to hear all about the village, take a beautiful long walk throughout the forests with banana & avocado trees and medicinal plants! Then seeing all the coffee plants and learning about the whole process! + it’s Fair Trade and Organic which is really important! Our kids (6&8 years old) loved every minute of it and Samwel was just the perfect guide! We also enjoyed the beautiful local lunch and coffee tasting at the end of the tour! Was fun to hear about all the various types of coffee and understand how the collective works. The entire day was fun, active yet at a relaxing pace and really interesting. I highly recommend booking a tour with Kahawa!

Safaris represent a very special experience and it was great to feel you can just seat back and let the experts plan the very best for you. Safari Soles were recommended to me by a friend that went on a Safari with them in January, so when I decided to also go on a Safari in April, I got in contact with them. From that first contact communication went very smooth, Bryson was very attentive to my requests and, through his experience, helped to shape the itinerary of the Safari, as to maximize the experience. I received his support when booking the accommodation in Arusha, for the beginning and end of our Safari, after having my sights set on the Rivertrees Country Inn. He helped us obtain the best rates per night, better than what was offered through booking.com and also a lot more flexible. And this flexibility really came in handy after having our arrival flight to Kilimanjaro airport delayed and couldn't leave towards Ngorongoro National Park, the same day, as planned, since our accommodation was inside the park, and we weren't able to reach it before the closign of the park gates. So, on a very short notice, Bryson saved the day :) - we went directly to the Rivertrees Country Inn and started the Safari the next day. He could arrange so that we could go first to Serengeti and then to Ngorongoro, and changed the accommodation date for Ngorongoro. I don't know what we would have done, if we were to have booked the accommodation by ourselves. Also, I need to say that Safari Soles's prices are really good compared to other Safari companies. I was in contact with other Safari companies as well, but their prices were significantly higher. Bryson even helped us do a balloon Safari in Serengeti, after deciding to go for this experience from one day to another. Our guide and driver, David Simba, was very knowledgeable and we could find out a lot of interesting infos about the wildlife; also, he's a nice guy to be around, we felt safe with him and he organized the best lunches for us in the park. So Safari Soles is a great team, you really feel you receive support from them when needed, and they go that extra mile to make sure the experience is one of a kind. Definitely recommend them!

The fun day started with a visit to the kilimanjaro national park where I met a grandson of the legendary first black Tanzanian who summited the mountain. He detailed the history of the mountain and record holding climbers. As a solo travellor, the gentlemen made things easy for me by creating a friendly atmosphere filled with laughter. We continued to the mighty ndoro falls, then immersed myself in the Chaga clan culture, where we had traditional food, learnt how to make coffee and learnt about their interesting history. My whole experience with siwareadvebtures was great with friendly and kind gentlemen and would recommend them for exploring Arusha and it's hidden treasures.
