Gilberto and Max of Discovery Tours provided the day trip of a lifetime to Anzio where I followed in my father's footsteps to see where he served his country in World War 2. Discovery Tours handled all the logistics, trip planning and detailed information on the battle sites and Anzio campaign with consummate professionalism. I learned much and thanks to Gilberto and Max, have a much deeper and personal understanding of the challenges my father and all other servicemen and women faced during this critical time in history. I enthusiastically recommend Discovery Tours to enrich your travel experience in the wonderful country of Italy.

Hello. I am writing to tell you about my/our group experience for our day in Rome. Initially, I was about to panic because I was not sure that our driver was coming. However, he did arrive, and was actually just on time or perhaps a minute or two behind what we expected. There were four of us in the tour. I greeted him with thankfulness and a kind smile. His name is Stephen. As we departed the port, I told him we were looking forward to our day, and I asked him to tell us anything that he knew would make our day great, as none of us had been to Rome before. Within a few minutes of leaving the port, we had to stop so Stephen could add oil to the van engine. We immediately had some reservations. But, we continued to be positive and attempted to engage Stephen in friendly conversation, and to try to let him see we were wanting to have a good day, and welcomed any way in terms of helpfulness, information, etc., that he could offer. As it turns out, Stephen could barely speak English, and was very difficult to understand, in the few times that he spoke at all. He was extremely unhelpful. He “pointed” in the direction that we should walk, but we had to naviagate on foot on our own, because his directions were unclear. When we arrived at the Collesium, he said “go up those steps”. The information on your site says we have 60 minutes at the Colliseum. We had no idea what/where he was talking about. A lady approached us and offered a tour inside the Collesium, but when we went back to the van to ask Stephen, he discouraged us, because he did not think we had time. It would have only taken 45 minutes, but since we were unsure, we missed that opportunity. All day, we returned to the van to find him sitting there chewing his fingernails, and acting as bored as he possibly could be. He drove without telling us anything interesting; just sat and drove and chewed his nails. Stephen kept saying that we had to be heading back to the port in time to allow for traffic. He also told us that he lived near the port. We made it back to the ship hours before we needed to and we believe that he was just not interested in the day, and ready to get home. We certainly would have had time to take the Collesium tour, with that kind lady who offered. In summary, I do not feel your tour provided what we had paid for. We paid for a English speaking guide, which we did not get, and we paid for an organized tour and informative tour, which we did not receive. We did not stop at all the stops that your tour indicated that we would. I am asking for a refund of this tour. It did not live up to what was advertised. Thank you for your consideration of this request. Malinda Martin

All of the experience was breathtaking. The whole park is amazing and very well kept. The guide was very good at not annoying my children that went through a three and a half hour guided tour! Luckily the weather was good and not too warm. This helped a lot. The park is full of shaded areas and water fountains anyway. Recommended tour.

I recently went to Rome and split my trip up with two nights in Sorrento. I used Roberto’s travel service to book transfers upon arrival in Rome and for my transfers in Naples to Sorrento. Once at Naples we went on a private tour of Almafi coast and drove through Positano. On my last day out we did a quick tour of the center of Naples and boardwalk area. He is very prompt in responding when coordinating travel. He is very knowledgeable about the area and we appreciated the private experience during these times.
