The 10 best Campgrounds in Cornwall, United Kingdom

April 24, 2023 Tonie Szymanski

Cornwall is the extreme southwestern peninsula of England. It has the longest stretch of continuous coastline in Britain and it is one of the sunniest areas in the UK. With picturesque villages, Celtic ruins, light blue waters, gardens and parks and unique architecture it certainly is among the most scenic areas of England. Home of many events and festivals and the land of Cornish pasty, it is definitely worth visiting.

We stayed just 2 nights but we fully enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back. My son fed the farm animals while my husband got us fresh coffee from the coffee truck on site. The rooms are big & decorated very stylishly. The fire place in the big comfy lounge was a treat. The staff are top notch & very helpful, friendly and accommodating.

Amazing

The best family holiday park we’ve been to. If you’re travelling with toddlers and young children you don’t have to worry about anything - they will provide it. Great location right next to the beach, lovely pub and shop nearby and very handy for day trips to Newquay and Padstow and Camel Creek theme park. Plus on site pools and bar/cafe. If you’ve got little kids it’s amazing. If you can stay in one of the lodges (with a hot tub) then do - we’ve stayed in both their basic and luxury and we still think it’s the best place ever!

Fantastic clean site

We stayed as a large family of 14, in 3 caravans, when booking way back in 2019 for a wedding in 2020....then 2021....now 2022 thanks to the pandemic. Was told where to book to ensure we were all together, and we were! Very clean site with lots of recycling areas. Caravans seemed new and were well equipped, and spotlessly clean. Lovely children’s area and club room. He a little shop which was well stocked and really friendly owner in there too! Really convent for , local shops, the beaches and bigger attraction like the Eden project wasn’t too far away. Definitely recommend as not only caravans, cottages, and tents mixed into the site.

Not Luxury

Reviewed By Lotsoflovelyholiday

This very expensive ‘Luxury’ apartment does not accommodate 4 adults! The 2nd bedroom consists of two 2’ 6” single beds, not even standard size singles. Also, there is no storage space whatsoever, no wardrobe or chest of drawers....nothing! Because of the sloping ceilings, we had no alternative but to reconfigure the room, leaving less chance of banging your head. In order to access the 2nd bed, we had to walk around the base of bed 1, bending as we did, to prevent banging our heads on the sloping ceiling. By doing this, we gained extra floor space, enabling easy access to the bathroom for both. This apartment is for family use only, 2 adults & 2 children & should be advertised as such. It was a very good thing that the 4 of us are close friends, as we shared the storage space in the main bedroom. We had to toss a coin as to which couple would have the main bedroom. Not a good way to start a holiday, as one couple were very disappointed & the other, left feeling guilty. The shower in the main bathroom had black mould both on the inside as well as the outside. (I have pictures of this) The water would not drain away & on inspection by my partner, found it full of hair....to my annoyance, he cleaned it! There was no mention of the amount of steps needed to access the apartment, it certainly would not be suitable for the disabled. In actual fact, one member of our party suffers from Dementia, meaning he was unable to carry anything heavy up & down the many steps. The balcony was certainly smaller than was expected. The kitchen appliances were excellent though. The definition of the word Luxury is “a state of great comfort or elegance, especially when involving great expense” As my heading reads, Luxury, it is not! The cost for this apartment, No 15, was almost, £2400 for one week !

Mena Farm - Holidays, Camping, Glamping

Unplug, relax and unwind at our spacious, quiet, secluded farm and campsite. Bring your doggies, go wild camping, go on adventures, look for badgers, rabbits, deer and buzzards, go star-gazing, visit the pigs, help collect eggs from the chickens, build a den, enjoy the sunsets, go fishing for tiddlers with the kids... Mena Farm is a magical place - you won't be disappointed. We're overlooked by Helman Tor, a Neolithic hill fort and one of the highest points on Bodmin Moor, in the heart of the beautiful Cornish countryside, and halfway between the North and South coasts. We're also very conveniently located - just 1 mile from the A30, and have around 15 acres to explore, including woodlands and a large pond. We have a range of accommodation on offer - choose between self-catering holidays in the old farmhouse, our lovely static vans, the garden room, or our fabulous bell tents. We're a perfect spot for campers and tourers, with great walking and cycling trails directly from the site. We're at the mid-point of the Saints Way, between Padstow and Fowey, and minutes away from the Camel Trail, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock House, the Eden Project and Cardinham Woods. Lanivet village is just over a mile away with a fantastic pub and a 5-gold starred Fish and Chip Cafe. There is no clubhouse here, just a barn with games, books and TV for those rainy days, and there are no bright lights - you'll definitely need to bring a torch with you. You'll find everything you need to enjoy your holiday, whatever you type of accommodation you choose. We offer a free daily delivery of fish and chips, for those evenings when you just want to relax, and we have a small shop on site, free hot showers, free wifi, electric hookups & hard-standings, children's play area and the games barn. Oh, and did we mention that we're open all year?

Me, my partner and 2 children have just come back from a 6 night stay at mena farm, We couldnt have asked for better hosts Ali and Neil, they were so helpful, kind and attentive. The campsite itself was peaceful (quiet down time at 10pm really helped with our kids) but still so much to do with brilliant food and drink vans coming at various times during the week, the site also had a great park/play area, a fun games room and lovely views and walks with very cute animals too see on the way. Our pitch size was perfect with privacy. The site location was also so great we visited beaches and lovely little villages. Easy to get too the North and south of Cornwall within only 30 minutes. Our family are very lucky and grateful we found a friendly, clean and fun campsite. Thanks again, we will be back soon!!!!!! Rachel, Chris and the kids x

Arrived after a long drive and Craig came over to greet us. Gave us a sheet full of walks and over points of interest. Immediately felt welcome at this site. Caravan was spotless and site very well maintained throughout. Pool table was faulty but again things happen did not affect overall enjoyment. Felt very safe for children to play as play area is located central to the site. Caravan was equipped with good size TV, all necessary kitchen equipment, iron, ironing board. We stayed in Atlantique caravan number 11, great gated decked area for our dog. Hoover's available in laundry room. Large washing machine and tumble also. No need to take detergent or conditioner as included in price for a wash (£4.50) and tumble was £2 for 40 mins and 20p per 10mins after. St just in very nearby with great choice or pubs and eateries, chippy, Chinese and pizza place. Tried all 3 and each was great Chinese was cash only for reference. Cash machine at co op nearby. Returning in August for 2 weeks for more of the same and to explore more of Cornwall. Great base and would recommend roselands to anyone wanting a great base, clean, tidy, friendly and good for young ones. Only gripe was lack of space for son to play football but you can't have it all. Kids being kids found over ways to have fun and he loved every minute of it. One last thing to add is that the prices are very very good and owners have not hiked prices like some other sites. A credit to them.
