Dedicata a coloro che hanno voglia di relax, ma anche di scoprire un mondo estremamente affascinante dal punto di vista naturalistico.
Not worth it
Reviewed By agnav2019It’s hard to find where to begin. We were really struggling to find the positives, but the ones that we picked are: - The hotel is located in beautiful capo vaticano and the views are breathtaking; - The receptionist is a very nice guy, always polite and ready to help; - The room was cleaned and tidied every single day. BUT there were so many negatives.. - Firstly, there was an insane humidity in our room as the room in itself had only one tiny window. Even the bedsheets felt wet and the towels and the room had a smell. We asked to change the room, however it was 150€ extra; - Secondly, there is a hidden fee for - the beach towels, transportation to the beach and the lounge chairs as well as the umbrella on the beach. The so called bus takes you to the beach only three times a day - at 9.30am, at 10am and at 1pm so if you don’t get onto one of those you can find yourself walking down a slippery path down the hill because a four star hotel doesn’t have a normal path to its private beach. Nonetheless, you have to take the towels in the reception and bring them down yourself and then bring them back up again.. Moreover, a four star hotel doesn’t have a toilet on the beach. Thus, the shower is not working properly on the beach; - Thirdly, when we booked the room, it didn’t say that the booking is full board. So apparently breakfast, lunch and dinner were included into the price. But let me tell you this - what a huge disappointment the food was!! We managed to find at least something to eat during breakfast (the coffee from the coffee machine was horrendous), but the dinner was something worth forgetting and the sooner, the better. We would have much rather had an option to choose half board and pay less, than have an unnecessary full board which we never used. - Fourthly, we were supposed to stay there for 5 nights, but ended up checking out after 3. To our disappointment, nobody seemed to care why we have decided to leave and check out earlier, nobody seemed to be bothered to ask what was wrong. All in all, this hotel deserves max 3 stars. The quality doesn’t match the price and it’s definitely not worth the money you are paying.

We offer our guests free transport to the beach and back and the deck-chairs and sunshades are free as well.A very important plus of the hotel is the quality and authenticity of the products used in the kitchen. Mostly they come from the own ground or from little farms in the neighbourhood. Near the hotel lies the approx. 5 acres Fruit and vegetable garden where a big part of the products are grown. Not only hotel guest are served but also lots of gourmets coming from the whole region which highly enjoy the typical local menu’s.On the menu you´ll find all the Calabresian specialities (as for example homemade starters or grilled fish) as well as Pizza´s baked in our characteristic wood oven.

Reviewed By Raphael HLess than 1km from the beach. We had sea views and could even see the Stromboli in the distance. Clean, cozy and quiet, small, family-run hotel. Ignazio and his team are just great. Delicious food and great conversation. We got lots of good advice and help for our trip. Thank you so much! We will come back as soon as possible.

Sea, eat, repeat
Reviewed By NicolaOrlI came here for one night. The hotel is fully new, built on top of a restaurant, same owners. The rooms were incredibly well equipped, 5-star like utilities, including a large balcony with drying rack and table. The rooms were very clean, position was great too, walkable distance from the main beech in Capo Vaticano. The owner was very accommodating, taking also into account that I was pretty late for my checkout, she didn’t complain at all and did’t charge me the extras she could have had due to my delay.

Reviewed By AnnaSch12The accomodation is quite basic, but the rooms are very clen and and bed are comfy. The cleaning staff changes sheets and towels very often. If you happen to travel to Santa Domenica without a car they will drive you to a beach and back whenever needed - very pleasant surprise. The breakfast is Italian style - sweet croisants and cakes daily, takes a while to get used too, but very tasty. The staff is very friendly and despite communication issues (nobody except Renata, the manager speaks English) everything went smoothly and they did everything they could to make us happy.

Reviewed By Susan GMy wife and I spent one night here on July 2, 2016 and we had a very poor experience. The room was booked by my uncle a few weeks earlier as we had travelled from overseas and were planning a weekend in Tropea. Upon arrival at about 8:30pm, all seemed well- room was clean and had the amenities we needed, however we quickly found that the air conditioner remote was missing. I went down to inform the owner, but found the office closed. My aunt and uncle who speak better Italian than I do also experienced the same thing. They contacted the owner who informed us that the remote must be requested. I found this very odd since the temperatures were well over 30 degrees. She eventually brought the remotes. The next morning, when we went down for breakfast, we were informed that our reservation did not include breakfast. Apparently the package that we had purchased was for the room only. My uncle did not have any knowledge about this and tried to clarify the matter with the owner who was insistent. The owner told us that there was only enough breakfast for the paying guests and that she did not have enough for another 4 people. We found this all very confusing. My uncle tried to reason with the owner but she was very insistent that she couldn't offer us breakfast. Rather than start an argument, we left, informing her that I would be writing a poor review. I have a copy of the receipt and the price we paid was in line with the booking.com web site, so I don't understand how our package didn't include breakfast. The mere fact that this became an issue is the reason I gave it a 1-star. The matter could have been settled with a simple apology and a coffee and croissant - obviously customer service is not a strong suit here. For the cost of 4 coffees and 4 croissants, this lady upset 4 guests and earned a very poor review. To the owner of the B and B, I ask you "what does the second B stand for?" To prospective travellers I warn you to confirm that breakfast is included in the bed and breakfast rate. It's a pity how some small business owners are so focused on the quick buck, they fail to see the big picture. Buyer beware!!

Reviewed By Tina LAgriturismo Ruralia is an awesome place to be. Good location, close to Tropea and to many beautiful beaches. It has a beautiful view on the Tyrrhenian Sea. We had an awesome time - good food, beautiful nature, swimming pool and very nice personnel. The owners are very welcoming and always willing to give advice on what to see, they help with car rentals and excursion bookings. It was one of the best vacations ever, such a relaxing place.

Reviewed By jamaicalThis hotel/resort seems to have different meal packages that you can purchase. We had breakfast and dinner but we had to pay extra for a bottle of water/wine. They only deal in cash at the front desk where you purchase a 20 euro punch card. So choose what you purchase wisely otherwise you will be stuck buying another 20 euro punch card even though you just want a pop for 2 euros. They also require cloth bathing caps to be worn in the pool which they sell for 2 euros (on your punch card). The breakfasts were pretty good with beverages included. The dinner always started with pasta (al dente) and then you choose either meat or fish. Nothing fancy but not something I would normally order. The pool area was nice with lounge chairs and quite a few umbrellas. The entertainment crew entertained from morning till night. Nice crew but hardly speak any english so we did sign language. You may want to make sure of what room you are getting. We ended up with a basic cottage across the busy street. We were a little taken back at first but no kids seem to be over there so it was a quiet area with lots of parking. The room wasn't too big and the shower was small. AC worked great. No ice. They had nightly entertainment but in Italian. It looked like they were having great fun. Don't expect a broadway production! They have a shuttle every couple hours to the beach (10 minutes away). Ask for a beach umbrella from the van. Pizza place down the street supposed to be good. Book with care.

Cosy place,very quite
Reviewed By Luca CThis place is perfect for couples ona budget. It's a bit hidden and hard to find but once you there it's a little gem. There are few rooms and they are pretty much all with "seaview". The rooms are small but very clean and well presented with a nice bathroom. You need a car to drive to the city centre. Breakfast is very nice, it's buffet style and you get a very nice view. Best quality for the price you pay!!!
