They are all so friendly and the hotel is spotlessly clean, the food was excellent through both hot & cold choices and we were full board. Of course the beach access, as in just over the road! Was a massive plus on our trip. Just 5/10 minutes stroll to the small square with numerous bars, eateries and shops. All in all a fantastic holiday, especially if you are looking to chill and re charge, not for younger party people though.

Booked HB but enough places to eat locally, so have eaten out most nights. Had a massage at hotel spa by Angelika would rate this 5 stars. Just the right pressure, fantastic! Reviewed By bixsterHave stayed in a few places in Georgiopoulis but Sunlight is now the only choice for us. It’s in a great location right on the beach and the rooms are immaculately clean. The Taverna is great and snacks can be delivered to you on the beach. There’s a number of smarter places to stay, but they’re all a bit soulless and corporate. Stick with family places to eat and drink and reject All Inclusive!

Reviewed By helenskipp18We always stay at Drosia as it ticks all our boxes for the best stay in Georgiopoli! After an enforced two year absence and a few cancellations, we were delighted to get back there again last week and all I can say is that this hotel is as friendly and welcoming as its always been - Christina will go those extra steps to ensure you have the most relaxed and comfortable stay - the rooms are still spotlessly cleaned, well equipped with fridge, kettle and utensils (ask for anything more you need and it will be provided!) and more than reasonably priced! Drosia is quietly located (silent in fact because of the double balcony doors - one being the blackout one) yet perfectly positioned by the bridge for a stroll to tavernas aplenty, Kalivaki beach (or the town beach) for an early morning swim and the eucalyptus tree road alongside the river for an occasional run! The bus stops for Rethymnon and Chania are just a few hundred meters along the road opposite the hotel if you want a few drinks further afield! We had a car for a few daytime excursions and trips to the long beach further east and parking on the hotel forecourt could not be easier, closer or safer. The air conditioning is super efficient and the WiFi signal is also good. We wouldn't stay anywhere else and this time we brought friends who loved it there as much as we do and are talking of rebooking as soon as they can! Thankyou Christina yet again for looking after us all so kindly (and for the little treats you left in our room!) xx

If you are looking for a nice sunny place for your holidays on Crete...its located in the heart of Georgioupolis, 300 m from the sandy beach and 100m from the village square, conveniently placed for local amenities. It consists of 18 rooms (single, double and triple bedded), a lounge with bar/ satellite TV and a terrace full of flowers appropriate for your breakfast in the morning or a cocktail in the evening. The well maintained rooms provide a bathroom with shower, balcony, an air-conditioning system and a safety box.

Reviewed By John RThe room was basic but very clean and cleaned every day except Sundays. More importantly our host ,Maria and her staff were genuinely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was eaten on the terrace and was provided by the busy cafe across the road .More than enough for us! I last visited Crete and this area over 30 years ago and was concerned it may have changed for the worse. There's no denying that there have been a lot of changes but the atmosphere and the people are as good as my memory recalls. We will definitely be back and thoroughly recommend this place if you want a quiet holiday base close to the attractive centre and beach

Lovely hotel perfect location
Reviewed By Sarah6077We have just got back from a lovely holiday and stopped at this hotel. The room was very basic however the beds were comfy and there was a fantastic shower room. The balcony overlooked trees at the rear which could have been made better if they were trimmed back so that the sun could get through to the balcony. The rooms and corridors were kept spotless and the staff were very friendly. The only negative I have regarding the hotel was lack of storage in the rooms and the lack of bowls and other cutlery items that would be ideal for breakfasts when people are self catering. The apartment is close to the town centre and a vast choice of tavernas. I would definitely be considering staying here again next year!

Heaven on Earth
Reviewed By alambrakosIf you would like a truly Cretan experience, look no further than Villa Kapasa. The views are breathtaking. The location is isolated up in a mountain, yet a quick 10 minute drive to the beach or lake and nearby Giorgioupolis with many shops, tavernes etc. I have stayed here multiple times as well as many other hotels in Crete and there is really no comparison. The owners Andrea and Argyro are extremely accommodating and make you feel at home. They are amazing cooks and offer all homemade organic meals from their own land including their own homemade wine, olive oil, herbs, fruits, vegetables, eggs from their own chickens, and on and on and on. This is a truly unique experience offered nowhere else on the island. I have never had better sleep in my life. Best vacation ever! I cannot wait to go back next summer. I have sent many patients of mine there and all have had similar experiences. Highly recommend to all.

Reviewed By Kefi74The rooms are up to normal Greek standards, clean, good size, rather dated but with all amenities. Wifi works on veranda facing sea, rather slow. Water hot. The sea view rooms are good and quiet, the rooms facing away from the sea are close to a busy main road - much road noise. It is a good 20 minute walk to town centre. The best thing about the rooms was the location, but only for those facing the sea. Did not eat at the Poseidon so cannot comment on the food.
