Fabulous!

Stayed just for one night but was so tempted to stay for a second!!! We were given a choice of room in their new modern building. Decided to take up the free upgrade. It was just wonderful! Some tweaks still needed - struggled to get electric blind to work, bath mat didn’t fit under shower door and no where to hang a second wet towel but minor complaints in what is a wonderful suite! My only real advice would be to improve pictures. Many pictures look really old fashioned when in fact in the main building it isn’t old fashioned just old and beautiful!! I almost didn’t book it because of the pictures and that would have been a huge mistake!!! Wonderful breakfast delivered to our room the next morning though could have eaten in dining room.

Disappointing return visit

Reviewed By Kellypf

Stayed in this B&B last year and delighted with room at that time but the difference a room can make to your experience. This time stayed in rm 6 with friend . Had asked for twin beds as we did not want to share . Got large double bed and a small cot size bed . Room was very old , unkept, wallpaper coming off , dirty corners , a lot of cobwebs ( not new ones) and the bathroom is well unfit for purpose. Its disappointing for me to write this review as staff are really friendly and it is a good location . The room needs stripped and completely redecorated and a new bathroom. It may be cheaper than a hotel however rooms need to be at least fit for purpose . Once this is sorted will def be a good place to stay as they have everything else right.

Clean, New, and Very Nice

Reviewed By Aslanschild2

Our spacious room was spotless, the owners friendly and kind. What more can one ask? Not a quaint place, and no view (it's on the main highway through town), but more like a spanking clean, fully refurbished motel you sometimes see in the U. S. We appreciated all the outlets, the ample desk, and the small refrig for our berries and milk. The King-sized bed was adequately firm, new-seeming, and comfortable. Shower water was too hot and couldn't seem to be made cooler. That would be the only ding, no big deal. We just missed breakfast, but the staff were gracious and brought out a very nice meal for us. Everyone could not have been nicer, nor this lodging more perfect for busy, tired travelers.

Beautiful ocean views

Our stay at Carnside was perfect! The location was very convenient for our visit to Giant's Causeway, which is a quick easy walk. Upon arrival, we asked about dining options nearby, and immediately Ann made a call to the nearby Bushfoot Golf Club, to see if they had room for us that evening, and suggested we make the 40 minute walk along the oceanside path and return via taxi. The rooms are lovely and clean, with all the amenities you may need, and we had the bonus of a view of the neighbouring seaside towns directly from our bed. The breakfast was delicious and a great start to our busy day! Be sure to book an hour in the hot tubs, at sunset if you can, the view over the ocean is unbelievable! If we ever are lucky enough to visit Northern Ireland again, we will absolutely stay at Carnside! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My partner and his Brother stayed here for 4 nights, for a close relatives funeral (they live in England). Myself and my 3 children came over on the Wednesday morning of the funeral. Carol was very accommodating, she let us use a room to get dressed in (our funeral clothes), and she cooked us breakfast (we had travelled 8 hours on the ferry). She is a very lovely lady, the rooms are beautiful and clean, breakfast was yummy. When we go over again, we shall stay here without a doubt. Thanks Carol xx

Beats The Chain Hotels Hands Down

Reviewed By D5288UPjohnv

Normally stay in the big hotels when travelling for work but location made me choose here. Find myself asking why I use the big hotels when this is half the price. A big hotel has a bar (but you can't drink if driving). This hotel has a fully appointed guest kitchen - if you don't fancy a restaurant meal (and let's face it we all get sick of them when travelling) you can pop to the shop & make your own! What a great idea! Excellent, large and comfortable triple room. Well appointed, clean and comfortable with private bathroom. This B&B feels really homely except it puts my own house to shame in every respect I can think of. Really loved the family photos on the stairs and in the hallway - made it feel like a home but you didn't feel like you were intruding in someone else's house. Breakfast was great - wide range of options and a very pleasant dining area. All food cooked to order and the quality of ingredients was fantastic. Only thing that was missing was a desk to work at if you needed. Could have used the kitchen table....or cleared a surface in the "lobby" of my room (room 1) but wouldn't have been ideal. Otherwise this property had everything you need. If ever back in (London)Derry will definitely be trying to book again. Well done Arkle House!
