I stumbled on this pub several weeks ago. I was working as a volunteer for a charity and needed to use a toilet. The cleaner at the pub very kindly let me in before the opening time. On walking into the pub I was astounded by the authentic oak and mahogany wood panelling, real fire hearth, plaster cornice coving and deep pile carpeting. Better still was the warm friendly atmosphere when I returned today to buy lunch and exchange views with the pub manager about the kind of things that made Black Country pubs so much like one's home. Yes - this pub is well worth visiting and sets the standards for all pubs per se.

I seriously cannot fault this pub, a large group of us, of various ages, visited on a Thursday teatime for birthday drinks and cobs, with two of the party being coeliac, we took some gluten free cobs so everyone was catered for, I could not fault the service, food, atmosphere, staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, even supplying cake and chocolate eclairs for Afters and gluten free biscuits and chocolate for the coeliacs of the group! Fantastic, we will definitely be visiting again.
