The 10 Best Bars & Clubs in Dingle, Province of Munster

December 11, 2021 Esmeralda Fenner

Perched on the hem of the Atlantic in Ireland's southwest, charming Dingle looks out over Dingle Bay to the Blasket Islands. Chock full of friendly pubs where live traditional music plays, the Irish-speaking area fills to the brim with tourists on weekends and through summer. Another regular visitor to Dingle's Gulf Stream-warmed waters is Fungi, the dolphin, the town's unofficial mascot. Popular tourist attractions include the beaches, Mount Brandon and Ballydavid and Ballyferriter villages.

O'Sullivan's Courthouse Pub

We spent a couple of nights in here, listening to rich, fabulous Irish music with a variety of instruments including banjo, the pipes along with Guitar and violin. Friendly - a traditional Irish pub selling good beer and one that hasn’t sold out to the wave of tourists, but one that shouldn’t be missed.

Watched Irish football in the pub. Very exciting. The people are great and friendly, especially Dara. He is is the consummate Irishman, just a lovely person. Went back a second time for music and drinks. If you want the ultimate Irish experience, this is the place.

Our evenings at Kennedy’s were one of our most memorable times in Ireland. Warm, lovely place, candles everywhere, it exudes a strong old world charm which is contrasted with a modern, mind blowing playlist! And the barman is cheeky, he made us laugh a lot and fixed us several rounds of his best Irish Coffee. Get the Irish Coffee, you won’t be disappointed.

Dick Mack's

Reviewed By tsmith025

We had been looking for someplace to listen to some traditional Irish music only to run into constant renditions of "Country Roads". A couple on holiday that we had met in another restaurant/pub in Dingle recommended we check this place out. So glad we did! The decor is a little off-putting. As was the tradition many years ago, local businesses ofttimes supplemented their income by also putting in a bar. Dick Mack's is such a place. It must have been a shoe store/cobbler at one time because the walls were covered with old shoes, lasts and tools fo the trade. There are also lots of little cubbyholes if you are looking for a quieter place from the main room. We fell in with some guys on holiday who had sailed up from Waterford and had the best time talking and drinking. Well, they talked and we drank. The stories these guys told kept us in stitches and we had a great laugh with "Father Ted" references (my name is Ted). All in all, it was our best night in Dingle and Dick Mack's will forever be a bookmark in our travels.

If you are travelling in County Kerry and the Dingle peninsula, don't miss a live music night in Flaherty's! Fergus will sing Dingle Bay in a way you'll never forget and his fellow musicians make a great Irish traditional music experience. In summer, Flaherty's has a nice beer garden too.
