Hussey's Folly

We went walking to the tower in the morning. There is a gravel path, but you can also walk along the beach. It’s just a small tower, but a lovely time to experience dingle without tourists.

Gallarus Oratory

Ancient church built over 1,000 years ago.

Reviewed By WeDreamOfTravel - Texas, United States

Amazing original, 7th-century oratory. No mortar was used to construct it; the stones are perfectly fitted together to create the dry and solid structure that has stood the test of time. The area is very peaceful and away from towns. A parking lot and a small visitors' center welcome guests before they proceed along the walkway to the oratory. With only one window and one doorway, the cosy inside of the oratory is rather dark and free from distractions outside, perfect for someone praying inside 1,400 years ago. If you are in this area of Ireland, this is a spot you should consider adding to your itinerary. It's not every day we can enter a 6th century building that is in such fabulous condition.

Ogham Stones

Reviewed By LotusExplorer - Streamwood, United States

Our tour bus stopped right in front of the stones long enough for us to take a few photos. We were on our way from Killarney to Dingle Peninsula. The stones were not too far (a few minutes by bus) from Moriarty's shop. The area was fenced off and graveled to protect the stones. I'm glad we were able to stop here.

St. Brendan's Well

Reviewed By Four_Points_Travel - League City, United States

Finding places like this is exactly what makes us keep coming back to Ireland. The story of the well, and it's namesake is incredible and the trip there brings you through an untouched and unspoiled corner of Ireland. We were there on an absolutely BRUTAL day in November, the waves were so big we could hear them hit the rocks and the spray was making it all the way to us! It was cold, the road terrible, the weather Irish, and it was perfect! What an adventure in honor of and adventurer, we dipped our St. Brendan patches into the well to be sown on our travel packs. Take a chance, get out of your comfort zone, and go to places just like this!
