Leninâbâd) in 1936-1991, is the second-largest city of Tajikistan and the capital of the northernmost province of Tajikistan, now called Sughd. Khujand is one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, dating back about 2,500 years. It is situated on the Syr Darya at the mouth of the Fergana Valley and was a major city along the ancient Silk Road, mainly inhabited by ethnic Tajiks. It is proximate to both the Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan borders.

This is definitely the spot where most travel agencies take their guests ,but even though it is somewhat consider a "tourist trap" type of place, the service and food was actually really good!The decor, atmosphere, and the outside sitting area were all very cool. I personally really much enjoyed their local soup, which had bone in lamb that was slow cooked for hours. So delicious, and so cheap. They even let out guide bring in outside Plov as they were not serving it there that day. I definitely recommend going there for a meal on your next visit to Khujand!

People in Tajikistan prefer extreme sweet deserts and oily food,which cause them have huge possibility to have serious tooth decay and obesity problems.The owner,Mauzuna,notices this situation and tries to open a restaurant for locals to have a new idea about diet.That was my first time to try Turkish food but it reminded me the time back to the healthy food restaurants in Taiwan.Every dish I ordered(I'd been there for several times),they all were fat-light and green.It was really hard to find such food in Khujand then.The cook,Mahmud,is from Turkey.When he had free time,he always came to the dining area to help the staff and try to ask for advice of the dishes.This is a whole new restaurant in Khujand.If I have time to go back,I'll definitely visit again.
