good value hotel and good location..
Reviewed By Dave nGood budget hotel....booked via email and paid cash on arrival and got a BIG discount off the room price. Older hotel but the rooms are clean and comfortable with small fridge, TV, good bathroom, some cupboards for storage, wifi. Good free breakfast. No english spoke at reception but the staff are helpful and happy to help...eg. they will order dinner deliveries for you. Good per kg lunch spot a few doors away. Laundry can be done at the hostel across the street. Walking distance to markets and city centre sites. Would definitely stay here again if I visit Belem again..

The cottages are comfortable in regional styles, balconies, decorated, full, air conditioned, with TV and minibar. Architected were just seeking union between nature and well-being of our guest. Using regional materials in its construction, while maintaining the simplicity and rustic beauty of Marajó. Accommodations can be in Single Rooms, Double, Triple, Quadruple and Quintuple. Currently the Inn possess 13 housing units and thinking of offering a hosting a little more accessible to certain groups, with apartments suitable for wheelchair, also features the hammocks for up to 05 networks, providing individual lockers (the client must bring your own lock) , shared bathrooms and laundry, and also offer the area for camping and Motor Home.

Nice weekend
Reviewed By PacaRioThe Samaúma hotel is a nice place to spend the weekend in Caripi beach, Barcarena, Pará, as I’ve spent with my girlfriend. Although it was raining a lot, and the best season is in the Amazon Summer (June to December). At least the hotel was not fully booked and crowded. The breakfast is very good, and the staff very gentle and eager to help and support the guests. The drawback is that some rooms, we spent at the tree house (awesome!), need repairs, and the sauna was not working yet. However, it was not a major issue to bother us and relax. Thanks and we appreciated the kindness of the staff. ;)

Awesome location !
Reviewed By 904agnescIt's approx 180 km from Alta Floresta along (good !) dirtroads, you have to cross the impressive Rio Telespires before you arrive at Thaimaçu. And to be honest, I did not at all expect a luxurious place like this ! The buildings look brand new the cabins are simply a delight : spaceous, well-equipped and nice to stay at. The meals are served in the restaurant in the main building and they are nothing less but delicious. And the location... oh my... right in front of the buildings you see a beautiful, cristal-clear river. The rapids sing you a lullaby at night. The only downside is the echo - the lodge is very popular with fishermen, and those (nice) people tend to be VERY loud. Specially during dinner it's impossible to have any kind of conversation if they are enjoying themselves. During the daytime you go out with a guide on the river, looking for birds, animals,... going for walks in the surrounding. They are one of the few lodges where the amazing Bald Parrot is basically guaranteed.

Reviewed By ManulouQuando se viaja pelo norte do país, além das preocupações normais que temos com uma viagem (fazer passeios legais, encontrar uma pousada agradável), nos preocupamos em como o nosso dinheiro será gasto e se estamos contribuindo, ainda que minimamente, com a região. A pousada americana é excelente do ponto de vista de conforto – quartos grandes, banheiro quente (uma raridade na região), bem localizada, café da manhã e refeições deliciosos. Mas, infelizmente, deixa a desejar no quesito sustentabilidade. Em que pese a amabilidade do Sr. Guilherme, fomos surpreendidos com sua postura predatória em relação ao meio ambiente (nos relatou certa vez ter pescado 200 tucunarés “por esporte”) e às populações locais (“índio é o pior tipo de gente que existe”, “ongs só roubam dinheiro”, “não tem índio por aqui, é tudo ribeirinho”, “índio só tem mais direito que mulher”). Enfim, uma postura que não combina com turistas que estão passeando na Amazônia, interessados no cuidado e preservação do meio ambiente e contato com os povos nativos.

Inexpensive Downtown Hotel!
Reviewed By LenEvanstonThis popular two story downtown hotel was recommended because of location, safety, cleanliness and low price room rates. All was true. Free wi-fi is available.The hotel staff do not speak English. This old building building is well maintained. There is no elevator and the staircase is narrow. The breakfast items-coffee, milk. two types of juices, scrambled eggs, fruit, various kinds of rolls and bread, coffee cake, and cheese. The rooms are air conditioned, clean and include a TV (no English stations), minibar, hammock hooks, and hangers ( no closet). The beds are low. You may need to request an additional pillow. There is no hair dryer and no laundry bag. The bathroom is small and has mold stains. The walls don't block noise from adjoining rooms.
