The stay in this pousada had been Ok accordingly to the need you have during trip like this. I mean you don't need luxury option, but space, good breakfast and a good rest. Walking distance from the town to get a good restaurant. Easy pickUp and dropOff, for any transfer you need to go visiting the area around. Following the rule above, me, my family and friends (a group of nine), all of us had been satisfied by this place. It's a good option to stay here.

I can be a little bit far from river where the main restaurants are placed, all the tours picked me at the hotel and they recommended me a very friendly and driver to take me for dinner. I miss that place....

Reviewed By WilliamErwinTucked on the river shore, this small pousada offers simple but clean and spacey rooms. A small, shady garden borders the river, where it is safe to swim. There's a small swimming pool on site and a roofed breakfast area. The city centre is a 10-minute walk away (and you have to go there to find your dinner). Very helpful staff, unfortunately without any knowledge of English. If it were not for the NOISY neighbouring restaurant, which BLASTS out terrible music until 2pm on weekends, the place would be tranquil. I tried to negotiate with the restaurant owner - in my not-so-perfect Portuguese, but they wouldn't budge. Maybe they've bribed the police, I don't know. So: AVOID during weekends, enjoy the rest of the week.

Reviewed By Alfonso IWe spent three nights in this lovely pousada and we felt really at home. Thierry and Jane helped us to organize our trip and activities there. The breakfast is delicious and plenty, and more importantly you can socialize with other guests (it really helps if you need to find people to share a car to Jeri). Atins is very rustic but equally charming place in the Lencois as you reach the park with a short walk and the beach has pristine waters and funny places to have lunch or caipiranhas.

Todos os funcionários muito solícitos e o diferencial é a disponibilidade de Rodrigo, sempre pronto para nos atender a qualquer hora! Sofremos um acidente, em um passeio nas dunas e tivemos todos os cuidados de toda equipe de funcionários da pousada. Inclusive, estadia estendida por 4 dias. O café da manhã saboroso e farto, bem como dicas de restaurantes e contatos, além de transfer(ida e volta), diário para jantar no centro da cidade. Além disso, a pousada disponibiliza um redário com redes limpas e macias, na varada coletiva de todos os apartamentos. Fomos super bem tratados, pretendemos voltar e recomendamos.

We used this as a base for going to Atins and they kindly stored our bags and arranged transport. Thank you very much for your help!

Reviewed By SMfrankfurtExcellent hotel / resort! Huge outside area with palm trees, hammocks, sun beds and a pool to relax in a nice breeze from the beach. The staff is super friendly and so committed to ensure your stay is splendid. They helped us organise our onward journey to Parnaiba and also an excursion to Ilha do Caju. The breakfast has a huge variety of very tasty fresh food and juices. The rooms are large, very clean, and we had a great balcony with a hammock and comfy chairs to relax and enjoy the view. There are many restaurants and small shops in walking distance. Would absolutely recommend!

Reviewed By OscarL766I spent the weekend in this wonderful Pousada while visiting the Lencois Maranhenses National Park. Everything about the Pousada is great, the attention of the staff was spectacular, the ladies in the front desk always willing to help with a smile in the face. Breakfast was awesome and the rooms were excellent, very quiet, perfect for reading, relax, and just simply disconnect from the hustle of the city. For those that need to stay somewhat connected, the internet is perfect to reply to all emails and make internet calls. Finally, it's very inexpensive, if you are on the budget, like me, Pousada Vasto Horizonte won't disappoint you. Overall, Pousada Vasto Horizonte is excellent, 5 star is not enough.
