Pietro & Graziella

Kind Sardinian Welcome!

Reviewed By paula a

Graziella brought me straight into her kitchen to a chair by the fire. It was March and the sun had just gone done, so the warmth was welcomed. I had been hiking and was tired. Her son was doing his homework at the kitchen table and her husband was eating some fruit, which he offered to me. Graziella and Pietro have three rooms and a large bath in a private upstairs section of their home, perfect for a family as big as six or up to six friends. The rooms are perfectly clean and comfortable. I spent a very peaceful night and woke to coffee and homemade yougart cake. Graziella explained Sardinian traditions and showed me her village costume. She sent me off with a huge piece of her cake and more fruit. This was pure Sardinian kindness. Thank you Graziella and Pietro. I won't forget you!

B&B I Menhir

The rural house, recently restored, was originally used by shepherds. It is located 7 km from Sorgono, a village in the geographical center of Sardinia, and a few steps from San Mauro's Sanctuary, surrounded by muristenes and cumbessias. The house, lying on a large boulder, is situated on a 3-hectare land with a slight slope surrounded by large bushes. It has a front yard covered by a local stone wall of about 50 square meters, paved in stone. Inside there is a large living room, in which there is a large fireplace in local stone and wood, communicating with the kitchen. Few steps lead to the two bedrooms and the bathroom, where the ceiling is made with wooden boards and beams. There is a large local stone barbecue outside. Just a few hundred meters from the house you will find the important archaeological park of Biru e Concas, called the Stonehenge of Sardinia, with a high concentration of about 200 menhirs, dating back to 3,300 BC. Always near are the protonuraghe Talei and the

Charming Room that was a good size and a nice bathroom as well. Room had a little balcony. It is right across from the train station and there is a steam train (although we didn't see it). Raimonda also owns one of the local bars together with her husband. She is a lovely lady and made our stay very pleasant, even bringing fresh Cornetti in for breakfast!

Old fashioned welcome

Reviewed By abba_druche

We stayed here one night so we could go to a festival in nearby Tonara. The decor is definitely to be noted - retro and original. The place was very clean and the owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. We had dinner in the restaurant - all homemade, like staying with a relative. Amazing fresh pasta. The breakfast was a standard Italian one, except that I asked if I could have something other than jam as I don't eat sugar and they brought me delicious fresh pecorino cheese. Another guest has pointed out there was no air con. What I did notice was there is central heating - which is essential for visits in the colder months. Sardinia is a fantastic place to visit out of season and getting away from the resort areas is wonderful.
