Nice hotel

It was good to see some of the staff who worked their last time we visited, which was a few years ago. Our room was very spacious. We stayed in a family type room so had 2 rooms within our apartment. The cleaners kept it very clean. Towels were changed as and when needed. The food was very good. It was wonderful to see the George is still running the restaurant. There was lots of choice. I recommend the night they offer a meal at the pool bar. It's a set menu and the food was sensational. Even though we were all inclusive we ate out most lunches. There are many restaurants a short walk from the hotel. The pool is great as always. Still chilly but you do get used to it after a few minutes. However, even though the pool was supposed to open at 9:00am every day it never did. On one day I had to ask twice for it to be opened. It eventually happened at 9:50am. It wouldn't have been a problem apart from one of my children is a water baby and wanted to be in the pool at all times. The lifeguard appeared to like watching his phone more than watching the pools. One of my children were injured on poolside and the lifeguard was on his phone not aware of the situation so I decided to take my son to the pool bar to clean up the wound on his knee. A lovely holidayer offered us some germaline so was clearly more aware of what was happening than the lifeguard. Rio the entertainer was great. We joined in a few activities. He was very enthusiastic. My children spent a hours in holiday club. They enjoyed the relaxed environment of it. It's not mentioned by the hotel but there are some (many!!) turtles under a bridge a few minutes from the hotel. My children loved visiting them and saying hello.

Hotel Sappho is the oldest in Eressos and also one of the oldest on the island. Every year it is visited by people from all over the world, who leave with the best impressions. It welcomes you with its recently renovated and fully equipped rooms and it promises unforgettable holidays. All the rooms are on the first floor. It is located in a privileged location in the heart of Skala Eressos and only 2 meters from the sea. From your room balcony you can enjoy the fabulous view of the Aegean sunset as the sea is under your feet. On the ground floor there is a Restaurant and Café-Bar. On the beach front deck you can enjoy a great variety of snacks, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here you will meet your friends and have a leisurely drink in a lounge atmosphere. Also you can have free wireless internet. All these along with our very friendly environment are some of the reasons that will make your holidays unforgettable. Everybody is welcome to Hotel Sappho.

Reviewed By MariaS81300You will be lucky if you have a room with sea view in this hotel. Very comfortable room and bed, you take breakfast (buffet included) just near the sea.... Marianna, the owner is a very nice person. And to check all the good things about Sappho Hotel, it's a reasonable price to sleep rocked by the waves or contemplate the starry sky in the night !!

Spacious, Comfortable & Affordable Sea View apartments, quietly located a minute from the beach & 5 min walk to village centre All apartments are simply decorated in ethnic style, have mosaic floors, air conditioning, kitchenettes & en suite bathrooms. Most have free wifi, private balconies & sea views. There is a large roof terrace with sofas to relax on & vegetable/herb garden for guests to use.

Reviewed By KrugeronthamesThis our 2nd stay here at Aumkara and we're really enjoying it. Very near to the beach and the village with all the bars and restaurants is a short walk away. The room we stayed in was spacious and the house keeping is regular. Fresh sheets and towels are provided regularly. The owners are lovely. The roof terrace is a great bonus with nice views and a place where you can relax.

Reviewed By 210paraskevikΧάσαμε το κλειδί του δωματίου (ευθύνη μας μεν, ανθρώπινο δε), δεν είχε αντικλείδι (ενώ υπήρχε για όλα τα υπόλοιπα δωμάτια) και η αντιμετώπιση ήταν η χειρότερη. "Να κόψουν το λαιμό τους να το βρουν", "να ψάξουν στις παραλίες που πάνε και κοιμούνται", "το κλειδί του αυτοκινήτου δε το έχασαν, αυτό βρήκαν να χάσουν" και άλλα συναφή, χωρίς καν να μας έχει δει από κοντά. Από την πρώτη στιγμή προσφερθήκαμε να πληρώσουμε τη ζημιά αλλάζοντας την κλειδαριά με δικά μας έξοδα, αλλά όπως είπε η ιδιοκτήτρια "δεν υπάρχει κλειδαράς στην Ερεσσο και επρεπε να αγγαρεψει κάποιον να πάει Μυτιλήνη να το φτιάξει, μπορεί να είναι και 80ευρω ζημιά". Αποτέλεσμα: μας χαλασε τη διάθεση για το υπόλοιπο της ημέρας, μας γέμισε τύψεις και ενοχες, μείναμε κλεισμένοι σε ξεκλειδωτο δωμάτιο (κατάφερε να ανοίξει με άλλο κλειδι αλλά δεν κλειδωνε) και όλα αυτά για να μας κρατήσει 5 ευρώ έξτρα στο check out. Αναγνωρίζω το δίκιο της, αλλά ήταν αγενεστατη και έπρεπε να δει και το δικό της λάθος που δεν είχε αντικλείδι. ΥΓ: ανυπομονώ για την ειρωνική απάντησή της, όπως σε άλλες κακές κριτικές που έχουν γραφτεί :)

Reviewed By ada177Wir waren wieder hier: 2015 und nun von ende august bis mitte september 2016. Seit letztem Jahr hat sich einiges getan. Valia, die super Deutsch und wohl auch Englisch spricht, hat sich der Villa angenommen, was deutlichspürbar ist. Neue Anstriche, farblich aufeinander abgestimmte Handtücher, Vorhänge, Bettdecken, Lampen, etc. fallen angenehm auf. Die Küchenausrüstung isteinfach, aber neu und sehr sinnnvoll. Die Matratzen sind gemütlich, die neuen Kissen in allen Grössen vorhanden. Seit diesem Jahr auch neue Fenster und Türen mit Rolläden und dichten Mückengittern zum separaten Schliessen. Valia ist ständig bemüht mit kleinen und größeren Verbesserungen die Villa Poseidon zu verschönern. Sehr schön auch der liebevoll gepflegte Garten und die neuen Schirme vor den Studios im Erdgeschoss. Verbessurngswürdig ist nnoch das Bad, aber das wird wohl bald in Angriff genommen. Wir waren in einem Appartement mitzwei Zimmern, das nach Süden Richtung Meer ausgerichtet ist. Im Hochsommer kann es auf dem Balkon wirklich sehr heiss werden, aber da kann ja ein Sarong an der Wäscheleine durchaus für Abkühlung sorgen.
