Reviewed By twins1-terangaOld fashioned Hotel but all the staff is nice and we see after 4 nights that they work hard and long hours, the restaurant is good and great value for money, swimming pool tends to be crowded but in the evening we never had any problem accessing, the only thing is when we went to the reception to kindly ask for a later check out, the lady, who we never saw at that time, strictly said no after barely looking at her screen, pretty much as if before even knowing which room we were she decided to say no, and when you see that 3/4 of the room keys are available right next to her, you come to wonder why there is absolutely no flexibility... she was not even nice about it! I have worked as a receptionist for 10 years now, and I can say that a little flexibility goes a long way, or even a smile and politeness. That leaves us on such a bad note when the rest of the trip was actually good. Urk.

Such a charming land lady
Reviewed By Ronald1964We stayed with Roberta for 5 days and we loved it. Although this is a nice and good place to stay, it is also a good place to see everything in Toscane. The rooms are good and clean. The beds are good. All extras, such as breakfast, is a plus here. I recommend to stay here, say hello from Joshua (georgio).

Great place to stay with a wonderful view
Reviewed By MariekeV1993We stayed here for three nights and had an amazing time. The location is beautiful: pretty high up and you have a great view from the terrace. Consuelo is very nice, every morning we had a delicious breakfast outside with cakes and coffee. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is very modern and nice. I would definitely stay here again. The road to the accommodation is very steep with many sharp turns, and if you encounter other cars it can be tricky to move around them. However, this is the only downside I can think of and the positives definitely outweigh it!

The estate was built in the beginning of the 18th century. Poggio de Papi is an agro-touristic complex, situated in the green hills of Montalbano, just two steps away from a medieval village, on 330 m. Above sea level, with a huge natural park of 11 hectares. The enchanting location provides to the guest a unique view from just any angle. The harmony of the undulating landscape offers opportunities for unforgettable trekking tours, horse-back riding and mountain biking. Our guests spend the nights in lovely rooms, which are furnished in the style of Tuscan tradition. All rooms are equipped with bath/shower, minibar, satTV, hairdryer, clima and courtesy kit. Furthermore, nice apartments with Florentine terracotta floors, living room with equipped kitchen corner, sofa, table and chairs, satTV. There is a reading room with free wi-fi (available also in the rooms) and a typical Tuscan restaurant where are available menu as a la carte, tasting and half board.
Peaceful setting, delicious food, and the best honey!
Reviewed By anonymous-aylesburyWe really enjoyed our two night stay here, in a lovely peaceful location with a view for miles. We liked the setting, with lots of fruit trees, and the donkey. The food (including breakfast) was fabulous - really interesting and with lots of home-made authentic local dishes (and the best honey I have tasted for 30 years, since my mother stopped keeping bees, which was very nostalgic for me!). The owners were really friendly, and Giovanni spoke excellent English and was very interesting and informative.

The farmhouse is immersed in an olive grove. A two-storey structure, the house was probably a stage post on the ancient road that linked Lucca and Pistoia, and Leonardo da Vinci might even have stayed here. The Pitti farmhouse enjoys a great location near the major artistic and cultural turist centres of northern Tuscany, including Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato, the neighbouring Montecatini Terme and Vinci, birthplace of Leonardo. Guests may choose from five apartments, each one with a comfortable lounge area with a couch and a fully-equipped kitchen corner; the bedrooms all have en suite bathrooms.The apartments have been organised in a way that not only respects the ancient structure of the house, but also reveals a little bit of its history.The charm of the past that fills each of the bedrooms seems to challenge time itself, contributing to an enchanting holiday.Stone walls, terracotta and wood floors, exposed wooden-beamed ceilings with the original hand made bricks, traditional furniture and beds made from wrought iron will take you back to earlier times, without sacrificing any of todays’s modern comforts.Each apartment, in fact, is equipped with an independent air-conditioning unit for the hottest days of the year.Outside, guests can cool down in the swimming pool after dozing for a couple of hours on one of the sunbeds provided.
Hidden in the hills
Reviewed By Wim HWe spend a week in the agriturismo with 2 kids. Kids had great fun. Lucky or not there were a lot of other families and the pool was the gathering place. The room was very spacious including kitchen. The surroundings are beautifull. Breakfast was very good. Home made bread and pastries really delicious. We were welcomed very well. One evening there was a dinner organised with all families on one long table outside. Is was really nice atmosphere, almost like in the movies, and food excellent. Is a pity it was not every day like that as they only cook when sufficient guests ask for it. However we found some good restaurants in the surroundings as well. All in all we had a really good time and can recommend the place a lot.

Spotless, spacious rooms, a fabulous full English breakfast and great hosts. Only 15 -20 minute walk from the sea front in a quiet area. A real gem of a find & we'll definitely return! Our expectations for a unique family vacation were fully met at Zelma with its few and very equipped and very clean rooms, romantic gardens, 360 degree scenic view, wine cellar, and not to forget the very nice pool area. However, what makes Villa Zelma truly unique is its staff – not to forget master chef Alessandra preparing classic Tuscany dishes, and her husband Aldo and Licia’s true kindness and professional service. We miss you all! Villa Zelma is the obvious choices for you and your family on your trip to the many wonderful places and sights in Tuscany – only half an hour’s drive from Florence airport. Wow what a place, clearly in the top three on my long list.

Reviewed By Esther vWe went to the restaurant Steake home and discovered that they had on the same location a small hotel with a lovely pool, pool bar and beautyful garden. The last days of our holliday we stayed here. Friendly owners, comfortable room, tasty lunches and friendly staff. Also the restaurant is highly recommended. Price quality is excellent for hotel and restaurant. Resume: La dolce vita!
