Breakfast was great. wifi as quite bad but I guess most wifi in italy hotels and resorts were? location was good. housekeeping staff were very good and did a great job. wish the resort flourish and and refurbished their rooms so I will come back again. overall was happy with the resort

Reviewed By phat_dawg_21All of Ischia is beautiful, and it is large in the sense there are a number of villages and beaches, so choosing a hotel involved weighing a lot of options. Fortunately, we have a friend who grew up in Sorrento who knows the island well. He suggested S. Angelo for its remoteness – away from the ferry ports, large resorts, and big spa hotels – and because it is a more relaxed place to spend our first visit. He was right about the location. This hotel is on a hill with views of Capri, Sorrento, and the hill side. We had a sea view room with a nice terrace, a comfortable bed, and an adequate bath. Adequate in that everything worked, but it was a bit tired and not as spacious as some places we stayed. The grounds are very nicely landscaped and maintained. The pool area is also very nice. We spent an afternoon in the thermal waters enjoying the jets in different areas. For the most part, we give staff very high marks. The Gentleman, maybe a General, who manages breakfast has a huge personality and great attention to detail. Everything ran smoothly the two mornings we were there. Housekeeping did a nice job and always greeted us in the halls. We had drinks on the terrace two afternoons and service was excellent and the prices reasonable. The same people also brought us drinks at the pool. The hotel does not have an elevator, so we appreciated the bellmen who carried our bags to our room. The only people we encountered who were not friendly and courteous were the two gentlemen at reception. They acted like it was an inconvenience to make a restaurant reservation or call for a golf cart; and check out the last morning was a real challenge even though our stay was prepaid. We had a car service from the ferry and our driver dropped us at the golf cart location. They were efficient, but we felt a bit expensive for such a short ride, but with baggage, you really have no choice. Although going quickly down the winding hill and meeting other carts made the ride kind of a thrill. We talked with other guests at the pool and at breakfast. It seems like there are a lot of French and German couples who come to this hotel annually and love it.

Reviewed By 91sabryI am always happy to be in this hotel, the quality of the food is amazing! Always fresh seafood ? and real traditional Italian food. The staff is friendly and if you ask they allowed you to relax in the jacuzzi even late in the evening or night under the stars. Is the perfect place to relax with great people who take care of you as if you were one of their family members. They serve REAL house wine, because they have a winery with their own vineyards. Such a special place! Can’t wait to go back!

Incredible Location, Outstanding Architecture, Very Poor Service

Overall, the hotel is splendid, has been renovated with attention to quality and incredible minimalist but outstanding furniture and overall settings. Rooms are very pleasant, facing the sea with nice private terrace, very good setting. Very nice attitude of the lifeguards at the ThermalPark, bravi! For what concern the service and customer experience, it has been quite a disaster. The staff working over there is lacking of coordination and leadership. The majority of them do not welcome the customers saying hello when you meet them (with the exclusion of some of them but very few), the almost do not smile, To reach the thermal park which is very nice you need to take an electric car trolley which is difficult to find available and requires sometimes to go back to the reception to call it. Staff is very limited in capacity so when they are busy doing one task (like serving at the restaurant), the bar is empty with no possibility to have a nice apero on the terrace during evening time (one time we have been suggested to go out and have it oustide...). The restaurant at the thermal park is very good from a food quality perspective. The service is very poor. Staff is moving around without proper coordination and tasks assignments, forgetting bacis attention to caring of the customers (we have orderred 2 times pasta with vongole and nobody has ever taken to us an empty dish for the shells) who are sometimes left alone for long time. Second courses are arriving when dishes for the first one are still on the table. Bar was left alone at 05.30 pm while the thermalpark was still open, standing there for more than 10 minutes without any possibility to interact with someone. Service to go back to the FIVE STAR HOTEL from the Thermal Park still not efficient. The day we had to leave we were booking an eletric trolley for the baggage to go back to the taxi parking. We had to chase 3 times to call them back as we were really coming short of time to reach the port, quite a disaster. Last but not least, a 5 START HOTEL should NOT share the staff with a 4 START HOTEL as the level of service, attention and caring that a 5 STAR HOTEL is supposed to deliver should be completely differnt. COST per Night almost 400 euro/couple, location apart, not worth at all!

Amazing place, amazing food & staff
Reviewed By Happyvacations1Have just returned from here after a week holiday travelling with Tui. What can I say, the place is amazing the views breathtaking & the food to die for. S’Angelo itself is laid back & fairly quiet for the most part, there are a few bars & restaurants. It did get busier at the weekends & on a Italian national holiday that occurred while we were there, centred around the harbour with lots of yachts arriving. There are no cars allowed in the resort just electric vehicles & you need to be fairly mobile to get around on foot. Apollon club is connected to Miramere hotel, the latter is more formal than the Apollon, both are lovely in their own way. Thermal pools & sun loungers are at the Apollon. Staff faultless & very friendly, nothing too much trouble & always done with a smile. In particular our waiting staff at the Apollon , Pascale, the two Alessias, Gea and Emanuale. They are a credit to the business.! We will definitely be back.

Authentic Italian stay!
Reviewed By CharlottemaisieWe stayed in Casa Adolfo for 5 nights in August 2017. We were the only English people while we were there, which was fun. Very authentic. A lovely family run the hotel, and prepare all the food. My boyfriend asked for an iron and instead they ironed his shirt for him. Great service! Apart from the language barrier, which would have made check in/ out easier. But that's our fault for not knowing more Italian. A very modest and simple hotel, great value, really good location. High up though so be prepared for the stairs! They hotel also organised our transfer back to Naples airport which was seamless, also a great service.

Our spacious double room had a balcony with a breathtaking view over the bay and everything we could need, from en suite to fridge, to hairdryer and air con. Breakfast was taken on the terrace overlooking the bay and what a way to start the day! Good food too. Christian was helpful and has sorted everything to make a guests stay easy, from the packed fridge where you can help yourself and pay at the end, to the late check-in and personal service. It is a bit of a walk up the small path but that is the way you get the view and shuttle carts are available. This is the nicest area on Ischia and this hotel was such good value that it made it possible for us to enjoy it. Would definitely love to go back.

Reviewed By maryfrost01Just got back from this hotel, mattresses blocking the fire escape. Breakfast was good,but had an evening meal, the quality of the food awful. Steps to climb everywhere, even to get to the lift. Reception staff were helpful, those that could speak English. We encountered very bad weather, nothing to do in the Hotel, no English channels on the TV. Lots of hills to climb,had to pay 40euros to get us to the Taxi rank to meet our transfer home. Food and drinks were very expensive.

Reviewed By willowghThere was no pool (that is shown in the photo). There was no beautiful tile for the outdoor patio (as shown in the photo). It was a concrete slab. The air conditioning did not work for the first two days and the shower water was cold.

L' Hotel Residence Sant' Angelo sorge in uno dei punti piu suggestivi dell'Isola d'Ischia. Dalla sua bellissima terrazza Bar si puo ampiamente ammirare il pittoresco paesino con il suo incantevole porticciolo. Alcuni mini appartamenti e camere godono della stessa vista sul mare e sono tutti finemente arredati con angolo cottura e servizi per assicurare il massimo confort.L' Hotel S.Angelo ha un'ubicazione privilegiata in quanto lo si raggiunge con la macchina, ma nello stesso tempo e vicinissimo sia al pittoresco paesino cui si accede facilmente a piedi, sia alla bella spiaggetta di Cava Grado alla quale e collegato direttamente da una discesa a mare piu scalini; sia ai campi da tennis a 100 metri; sia a due parchi termali distanti pochi metri. Inoltre, anche se la distanza e brevissima, c'e un servizio trasporto persone da e per le terme. A circa 300 metri dall'Hotel Sant'Angelo c'e la spiaggia, pulita e curata, Barbara Beach e a 800 metri la spiaggia Banana Beach.La grande terrazza bar, il solarium con piscina e idromassaggio, la mini piscina coperta con trenta punti d'idromassaggio, la nostra salutare acqua calda, il panorama incomparabile, fanno di questo Hotel Residence a Sant'Angelo uno dei posti piu esclusivi dell'isola, dove si puo godere una vacanza romantica, riservata e tranquilla.
Excellent value and old fashioned service
Reviewed By mrsbsartMyself, a colleague and 8 students stayed for 5 night in this wonderful family owned business. The hospitality, cleanliness and above par service allows for one to stay in peace. The breakfast was plentiful. The dinners we arranges were local and fresh with excellent service. I would not hesitate to stay here. Our students took full advantage of the pool and found it to be clean and well maintained. Traveling with students during COVID can be difficult - they made our stay so enjoyable. They even assisted with having a doctor come to the hotel to do our preflight COVID test ($40E). A wonderful service for travelers. I have no hesitations recommending this wonderful gem of "Sorento."
