I had to reschedule my day as the rain had kicked in. Rather than walk, I decided to visit a few distilleries. By the time I got to Glenfiddich, I was hungry. I opted for a Fiddich pie, fries and a cup of Cullen Skink. I’m getting a bit of an aficionado of Skink and this was outstanding. Loads of cream, onion and smoked fish. The bar was really busy, but the staff were on point. The distilleries are really getting the message with regard to visitors and Glenfiddich are on point.

This restaurant/pub is a gem. We had not booked, arrived at 6pm, and were seated promptly. We were astounded by the selection of whiskies, and thoroughly enjoyed our own tasting session, along with our dinner. The food was phenomenal. We reminisced on all the dinners we have had on our trips in the past 6 months. This is certainly one of the best, if not THE best. We had our desserts in the lovely cosy sitting area (along with two other guests who we had met on one of our distillery tours). We may need to visit Dufftown, just to eat here again.

The cafe is in a freshly painted carriage with flowers on the tables and outside seating as well. The staff are genuinely friendly and even wish you a great journey on their delightful railway. The baking is fresh and the coffee in cafetiers. Prices are good and the cafe is very busy. You can order from the counter and pay if you are sitting outside on the platform.

Was recommended by a local, a party of four, upon reading the menu I thought they’d given us the wrong one , probably a reasonable choice for a lunch time, but well below a standard for an evening meal, so on deciding on the described traditional fish and chips, being a short distance from Petershead I assumed i was in for a treat, well if frozen chips, peas and fish are traditional at about £12.95, though a really nice tarter sauce was provided ( yea ) , this was without doubt the most lazy meal I have had in ten years, apparently three chefs who can’t be stooping so low as to make proper food, pretentious and lazy, with a management who are obviously either not in control or not bothered how they get money, but never mine again. We are sorry we didn't meet your expectations.Thank you for taking the time to comment

Stopped in just after opening on a Sunday morning. Although their were not offering their full chef prepared breakfast, we found the sandwiches and sweets very satisfying. It's hard to find a good breakfast / coffee shop in Scotland. The Byre Grazing was a nice start to our Sunday itinerary of distillery tours. Would definitely eat here again.

We booked dinner at 57 on our first night at Dowans. We began with drinks in the bright and light bar, where the cocktails were great, and the service impeccable. We moved to the restaurant, having ordered our meals and wine while having drinks. Service was beatifully measured, and the staff were engaging and respectful. The food was excellent, and the quantities generous without being excessive. A range of pasta and pizza dishes is available, but really the focus is on the more involved dishes, such as scallops and lobster. Overall, could not be faulted. Well done all.
