In the park lies a large swimming pool on three levels with a fantastic view over the entire valley. The estate lies on a hill overlooking the Maremman countryside, not far from the town center of Saturnia and only a 3-4 minute drive to the famous hot springs of the village. The rooms at Bagno Santo Hotel dispose of air condition, cable and satellite TV and the apartments of a fully equipped kitchen. At the tavern you can taste the typical Tuscan cuisine and its gastronomic specialties accompanied by the excellent wines of the region. Our reception offers a ticket service for entrance to the hot springs of the Terme di Saturnia Golf & Spa Resort at reduced rates and special prices for the close golf court.

Most Romantic Place To Stay In Tuscany

Reviewed By MerlynDalamar

We rented a car in Venice and drove down through Bologna & Florence before arriving at Bango. We stayed from the 28th Aug 2015 to the 31st Aug 2015. We reserved the Annex which is a little "house" on the edge of their property. It has everything you need. The Annex comes with a fully stocked kitchen area with refrigerator & freezer (which we needed desperately for ice after an injury). A fireplace for those cooler evenings in Tuscany. A king size bed, lockable windows with bars (for the vampires), and a cozy vintage bathroom with soaking tub. Thanks go Google Maps we were able to find Bango with no problem, but we did take all of the directions given from the hotel itself and also from other reviewers. We didn't need them at all. The driveway in had some serious potholes on it, and it was pretty steep, so the hotel was a little hidden. As soon as we got out of the car, we were greeted by who we believe to be the owner or owners daughter. No one spoke anything other than Italian. We saw people complaining about this during our stay and also read some reviews about this. Remember you're in Italy, they don't need to speak your language. We were fine with it, thanks again to yet another google product, Google Translate did most of the work for us along with my broken Spanish/Italian. We were able to settle in before dinner. Dinner is on site and it is whatever they are cooking that day. There is a 1 page menu with a few options for courses. The dinners are 4 courses, not including the chilled rose wine. Our first night we fell in love with the meal. Everything from the veal to the chicken, the potatoes to the pasta, the bread & of course the wine. It was by far one of the best meals we had ever had in our lives. The room allowed us to sleep like a rock. We are used to more firm beds from our travels, but this bed was quite comfortable. Up early for breakfast and while we were exploring the grounds, around the garden area there is a little bridge that is over a pond. We walked over it and I stepped off the bridge wrong and twisted my ankle. The injury was very severe, but they made sure we had ice, and helped us whenever we needed. Of course nothing is open in the middle of nowhere Italy on the weekends, including pharmacias. We drove about 30 min in each direction to find food, but all of the mini supers were also closed on the weekends. If you are staying in the Annex it would be more cost efficient to buy your own food and prepare it in your house. Each dinner we had was around $100USD. They also do laundry, however to wash a hand full of clothes cost $20USD, so I would suggest attempting to find a laundromat somewhere else along the way. We couldn't find any in Tuscany, but found tons of them in Florence & Rome. We spent at least one full day near & in the 3 level pools. It was a little too warm for the barrel sauna, but it looked pretty divine as well. Overall the hotel is one of the top 5 we have ever visited in the world. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is spectacular. The views are out of this world. If you have the chance to stay there during a full moon, please do. The views of the moon over the hills of Tuscany are mesmerizing to say the least. Also, it is a must to visit Saturnia Thermal Baths up the road. I am convinced that they helped heal my ankle enough for me to still walk another 50 plus miles during the remainder of our Italy adventure.

The Tuscany Life

If you want a quit stay with an ultimate respect and awareness for hygiene, I would highly recommend Il Torrione. Never went to a b&b or hotel or...which was that organized to be Covid-proof. On top, every piece from their breakfast is homemade. The real agriturismo as it should be! They make bread, pasta, olive oil, wine, ... on their farm and you can taste it all. Only the winetasting was unfortunately not possible during our stay because of Covid. Super vacation with a beautiful swimming pool and very clean and large rooms. Il Torrione will please you very much!

Beautiful and clean place; something to be improved

Reviewed By aless245

Beautiful location, very clean rooms and common spaces, very nice gardens and common areas; a bit lacking in rooms furniture, in bed comfort and in dinner organization. Good and quality ingredients for main meals, but not well harmonized, mixed and cooked. Almost same things every dinner, a little bit basic for food. I will work on it for making every aspect good.

Awful!

I booked here for one night. They told me not to come before 5 00 pm cause nobody would be there. I arrived at the requested time, was greeted by a lady who seemed bothered by my arrival. Gave me my room, terribly hot, not too good smelling. grudgingly she showed me how to use air conditioning. White sheet on the bed with a dark stain, went closer: lots of dead insects on it!!! I run away

Fabulous!

This small B&B is run by 2 lovely ladies who could not do enough to help us! We requested a twin room, but got a double, and within 5 minutes the beds were re-made and it was a twin again! No fuss at all. The room was really comfortable with great facilities for a B&B (better than some hotels)! The breakfast was amazing. A good range of things for such a small guest house. The coffee was great and the breakfast room had a lovely relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. It’s situated right in the heart of the village, with restaurants and shops less than a minute away. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Abbiamo alloggiato in loc. Strano.. Nessuno si è mai lamentato".... Cosa SICURAMENTE non vera.

Perfectly located friendly guesthouse

Reviewed By Kate B

Cannot be beaten for access to the Saturnia Terme. Staff were very friendly and made checking in and out a breeze. Breakfast was good. The room however (ground floor next to the breakfast room) needs some work. It was noisy in the morning, hot and the mattress should be thrown out. Air conditioning in Tuscany in July is really a must.
