This is an old school barbecue restaurant (parillada) in central San Juan serving a range of traditional grilled meats and standard Argentinean fare such as empanadas and milanesas. The decor has seen better days and could do with a lick of paint. The toilets in particular leave a lot to be desired. However the food was decent and I'd go back. We had grilled provolone cheese to start which was really nice then a steak each - a lomo and a bife de churrasco. We preferred the lomo as it was more tender and juicy but it really depends what cut you personally prefer. The bife de churrasco is a bit like a sirloin.
The lomo came with some very nice grilled vegetables. The cost was approximately USD 40 for one appetiser, 2 steaks, 1 side dish, water and a half bottle of wine. Not sure how that compares locally but we found it to be quite good value.

Tried baro 1st night in San juan and we were very disappointed. We ordered salad and pasta. Salad was ok but the pasta hd no flavour and only 3/5 of the ingredients in the menu. When we asked to be sent back the cook sent it right back in 5 minutes unchanged. Explained this to a 2nd waiter and got tired of waiting so we left. Paying the bill was a joke as no apologies were even hinted. If you are keen on waiting for average food try this place.

It is a typical diner, located in one of the halls of the building " Club Español " , located in front of the main square of San Juan . Where those clients can choose from a wide selection of meals , drinks and desserts , all for a reasonable price and excellent service .

The restaurant is not the most elegant of places but food was very good, there were dishes apart from the standard meat on the menu and service was quick and friendly. A place to come back to.

If you want an informal setting for some lomitos with friends, this is the place to go. Mostly young people, great attitude from the service and owners, although given it gets crowded, can be a little slow.
Place gets packed late (after 11pm) so arrive early if you want a spot.

We found this restaurant just by chance, the chance being an encounter at the Tourist Bureau with a chap from Belgium. It was too early for lunch so we noted the location came back several hours later and the place was blocked with 2-3 queues of those who were paying for weight of take away and those of us intended on sitting. Please know the sitting space consists of some 6 small tables. The array of food is just beyond the tables. The cost for the eating in food + 2 juices was about $8.00. Very popular with locals so plan your visit.

In the basement of the del Bono Park Hotel, this place is in the ancient wine celars that used to be here. Service is good and food excelent. My team came here on several occasions during a 6 week assignment in San Juan. We called it the "posh restaurant" as it had an upmarket feel compared to others in the vicinity.
We liked it and the decor and service helped it stand out but the food was much the same as elsewhere. Let's face it - it's very difficult to get a bad steak in Argentina and most restaurants offer more or less the same menus.
That said it is definitely a very good place to go and don't hesitate in recommending it.

the restaurant is in the Club sírio Libanês and ther is no sign for the restaurant. Just walk in and ask the elderly gentleman at the reception for the way. The building is beautifull and worth seing. The restaurant opens for lunch (12:00) and dinner (21:00). I had one of the arab specialties on the menu a pot-pourri of diferente dishes. Is was delicious and far too much for me. The waiter and owner are very friendly and helpfull. The decoration of the restaurant itself is a bit outdated, the only reason why I didn't give 5 stars.

A dos cuadras de la plaza principal. Una casona, muy bien ambientada y con una clientela habitual muy tranquila. Buenos tragos, buenta atencion y buena onda. Precios normales. Recomiendo

Came here with locals whom have been before....firstly we had to wait just under an hour for a table which is fine for a place that is popular and the service was good as they even brought out nibbles (hot chips & onion rings) and drinks for people that are standing in line. However when it came to the pizzas it was a little disappointing as they were served pretty much room temperature! This place is great if you're after a nice environment as there are many more pizza places which are simple yet arrives on your table with steam still arising!
