WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!!
Reviewed By Nuts4BoltsI can't believe this hotel has 5 star reviews?? WORST hotel experience I've ever had!! We arrived with a family of 4 adults and a confirmation from Hotels.com for 4 adults. Theresa went to her laptop and said her booking only showed 2 adults. She brought us to our room which had only one queen size bed. My reservation confirmation showed a queen size bed and a full size pullout couch. She literally took me to a utility closet with a washer/dryer, brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, cleaning supplies, etc. where a filthy rolled up cot was on a large shelf and said she could make that into a bed. NOT ACCEPTABLE!! My reservation also confirmed A/C and only part of the unit had A/C in it (during a major European heat-wave). We arrived at 8:00 pm after a long hot day with a train from Rome and ferries along the Amalfi Coast. The building was sketchy, lobby & staircase had NO lighting, we had to use the flashlights on our cell phones to see up the stairwell, elevator wasn't working and unit was on the 3rd floor. Theresa spoke broken English and was rude and frustrated when we told her we wouldn't be staying. She refused to refund us our hotel expenses even though the error was clearly on their part. Since I had 4 adults confirmed "in writing," she should've been apologetic for the inconvenience and offered us a refund - the room didn't match our confirmation and she didn't have any other rooms available. Very poor customer service and an insult to Italian hospitality!!

Reviewed By Francesca KBrilliant, clean room, beautiful view, stunning building with an old fashioned lift. Vincenzo, was an excellent host, providing nice coffee and italian pastries in the morning. He had sufficient english and was incredibly helpful with maps of Salerno and ferry times. He went above and beyond for me as a host, when i realised as i got to the airport that i had lost my money, he searched the room found it and transfered me the cash. He was kind, happy and courteous. Our stay was made easier and safer. I would recommend to couples or families, or 2 exploring girls like myself and my best friend who stayed ! Wonderful 5 stars for the host. Comfortable room.

Our room had a beautiful balcony overlooking the Corso Emmanuele Vittorio, a pedestrian only street with excellent restaurants and shopping. The proprietor Andrea was an excellent host. The breakfast was excellent too.

Reviewed By Frutta00We highly recommend and would stay again. Room: The room was adequately sized, especially for being in the city. The bed itself was extremely comfortable and I really enjoyed the large balcony. Our room faced the street and we found it to be quiet during the day and/or night. An Italian breakfast is provided in the room daily and there was a mini fridge with water. Location: The property is a few minute walk to the main walking street where there are bars, restaurants, and shops. This street can take you to the train station in one direction and the historical center in the other. The property is also within walking distance to the ferry and the beach. We are avid walkers, but I would say nothing took longer than 10 minutes to get to. My only caution would be that there is a small incline when walking to the property from the south. Hospitality: The highlight of our stay was the hospitality. The host promptly met us when we arrived earlier than planned. Maid service was done daily even when we said it wasn’t necessary if they felt uncomfortable due to Covid. We also left behind a bag of cords by accident and remembered a week later. We contacted the property and the host promptly replied and set up a day and time to meet so we could pick it up. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Very Modern Decor and Great Location!
Reviewed By FrannieOWe spent a night at the Madegra Sea Suite en route from Capri to Sicily and were very happy with the accommodation. The room and bathroom were large and very nicely decorated in a modern style. The location was also terrific, with the sea right across the road, and the train station just around the corner and up a couple of blocks. A couple of points to note. The front door is unattended so to get into the room go next door (to the right) to the Madegra Cafe and ask for the key. Secondly, the ferry may arrive at, or leave from, the docks very close to the Madegra, or the other docks/new terminal approx 1 km away. Having ferried to Salerno previously several times, we were surprised when this time we were dropped off at the new terminal. In any case, we walked to the Madegra along the beautiful waterfront, and in fact, decided to return to Salerno and spend more time there as a result. We would definitely stay here again.

Reviewed By WilliamH2272We originally booked Salerno due to its close proximity to other cities such as Naples, Pompei, etc and the beach. We found this place and contacted the host about bringing our car and cat and it was fine. When we arrived we where presently surprised with the location at first. Provided you stay on the main road everything is fine, but as soon as you go wondering to the side streets it’s not so pretty - full of lots of rubbish and this includes the local beaches. Anyways, back to the place. When we arrived we where the third car and though great it parked. We got our keys and went to our room. While it was clean, it could do with a deeper clean - in particular the shower which has yellow scum around the edges of the shower cubical. The next day we where greeted by the host who asked if we needed the car and we didn’t think we would. So we gave the host our keys which sat at the desk for anyone to take for the next 5 days - this should have been locked up and out of sight and not for everyone to see. When we got back our car was blocked in, so no way of getting the car out for a spontaneous adventure. This resulted in us having to navigate the bus and metros on many occasions at night as there was no way of getting the car out. Although this place accepts animals, the cleaner has no experience of cleaning the room with cats and the only time it would be cleaned was if we where there to deal with the cat (all other hotels etc that we stayed with before haven’t had this problem). The city center of Salerno is a good bit away only assessable by car (which we didn’t have access to) or by bus - so you have to factor the cost of tickets in before booking here.

Also, close to plenty of restaurants! Alfonso too was wonderful! We were in a bind for transportation due to an early flight on Sunday morning and he got everything worked out for us. Thank you for such a great stay!

B&B Not so luxury
Reviewed By ThetravellingHatStayed at this BnB in the last month We had far more superior BnB's for the price paid. Its lacking in finesse and the owner can be a little arrogant and not very friendly. The rooms are in fair condition but I would not call this luxury I would call it standard. I would give this place a skip and try out the handful of other BnB's in the area which there are plenty and of better standard. On the night of arrival the neighbor's had a party and they only stopped in the early hours of the morning not giving us much rest even with closing all the windows.

Not far away from train station and from Piazza della Concordia where you can take ferry to Amalfi coast. Edoardo and his aunt were really kind and nice. They contacted me before my arriving to city about check-in time and after check-out even let me leave my bags at reception until the end of a day. I stayed at Tuttoincentro for 2 nights with my wife and son. The room is clean with new furniture and air-conditioner. Bathroom equipment is also new with a shower. In a room you can even find Salerno maps and guides. Breakfast there is fine too. Edoardo's aunt prepared our breakfast in the dinning room. She is very kind and hospitable. I will definitely stay there again next time in Salerno!
