Our guests staying in the restaurant Atelier experience a glimpse behind the scenes of daily life in kitchen and service. Our offer comprises state-of-art global cuisine, mainly with Swiss and regional products which we purchase from suppliers and producers who we know personally. The emphasis is placed on manual skills - everything we offer is «handmade».

I think this is the fourth or fifth time I have been to this restaurant and i always enjoy it.The food is beautifully presented and the ingredients are local. Last time I had venison. It is worth asking for advice on the local Swiss wines as they are getting better and better. It is Switzerland so don't expect it to be inexpensive but the difference is that the food and the experience make it worth every penny.

This is my 2nd visit. Easy access from Basel via either tram 3 (since Dec 17) or 11. Roughly another 15min walk.
The restaurant has different sections and decorations. Alsacien cuisine and decorations. Prices are reasonable (euro 30 to 40 pp) and generous portions. Menu seems to change from time to time. Nice ambiance. Quite full even on a cold winter week night.
Alsacien food is not my favorite but its still a fairly nice restaurant in case you are in the neighborhood.

We (three couples) had a dinner in Cheval Blanc and were wowed by everything: incredibly delicious food, fantastic sommelier who selected suitable vines for everyone of many dishes, and the price 400 CHF per person for whole menu, nice wines and great bottle of champagne for an appetitive. Will return!

We visited SchlüsselZunft for Christmas day lunch. Amuse bouche, pepper coated salmon, cream of parsnip soup with lemon-chervil sorbet (that made an impression - a sorbet ball and the soup poured around it, quite a taste contrast) Sautéed veal fillet with vegetables (good but we were beginning to pall on veal as every Basel restaurant seemed to feature it) Christmas chocolate mousse with Morello cherries, and pastries. With a glass of wine each and water it came to 255 CHF for two.
The waiter was very pleasant and gave us more information on a tile stove in the restaurant (you can download a history from schluessel-zunft.ch) and gave us a look at the guild room upstairs. Schlusselzunft means "Guild at the sign of the key". He explained that the chain at the corner of the building harked back to the days when the house at the sign of the key controlled the entrance to an alley up to the Munster.
This restaurant was recommended by the hotel, and they were right. A very interesting afternoon for our palates.

I've been eating here since long. The spices and style of cooking will never let you miss the traditional Indian food. If you are here in Basel and want to enjoy Indian food with no compromise to the taste and quality, pay a visit to this place!
Must try Chicken Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer. Tandoori Chicken with Beer is another option if you are not up for dinner and want to go for light snacks with alcohol.

Nice location specially if you stay at the same hotel. Separate big hall with possibilities for parties.. (also costs more) Tasty food, good sitting area and feels good :) Its a bit expensive.. or maybe every place would cost similar on these grounds..

This was a nice treat to myself, my daughter and I went for tea at Brasserie Les Trois Rois, the place is absolutely gorgeous and refined.
The service excellent, the staff very attentive and kind.
The chandeliers, the decorations, the beautiful view over the Rhine... magnificent.
This is a MUST GO.

The trattoria amore is a classical Italian restaurant. Roman cuisine, home made pasta, white table cloth, great good looking service. We started with a small salad, had Spaghetti Vongole and Tiger Prawns with mediterranean vegetable. All prepared with lots of care and very tasteful. The wine per the glass (Montepulciano) was a wonderful recommendation. If we lived in Basel, then this would be our favourite Italian. Well done!
