Woodlands Restaurant, widely recognised for its fine preparation of famous Chettinad dishes, has enjoyed immense popularity among food connoisseurs in Oman, especially the expats and westerners. With a track record of 30 years of successful operations in the Sultanate, it prides in being the ideal family restaurant that not only excels in food, but also in its service that comes straight from the heart. Little wonder then, that it won the 'Best Service Award' 5 times, Best Indian Restaurant 2011 & Best South Indian Cuisine Award for 2013 & 2014. Currently, the restaurant operates in the Central Business District, Muscat.
So, to give a little tribute to our "not meant to happen" holidays in India we decided to eat Indian. Found some suggestions on tripadviser and decided to tryitout.
Beautiful design of interiors, delicious food and very kind and helpful staff.
Thank you so much for great service enjoyed it very much.

The restaurant was highly recommended to us by couple of local friends. Went there for dinner with wife and two young kids.
We ordered 2/3 starters which were decent and nothing to rave about. In the main course, we ordered a chicken dish and a chicken dish, along with singaporean noodles and fried rice. The food was average and very similar to the food that we get in indian chinese restaurants back home! Was not authentic chinese as we expected.
The portions are huge and we ended up wasting 50% of what we had ordered, and were feeling very upset with ourselves about the food wastage.
The restaurant serves alcohol which was an added advantage. Restaurant has ample parking which is free.

Kurkum (Telephone: 24714114) is new Indian restaurant in Mattrah
Food, service and atmosphere was outstanding. On the main walking street just down from the "tourist" restaurants . Thanks to a quick Tripadvior search about another restaurant we noted the reviews of this one we had walked by. Not inexpensive but very good - note...MoreDear Customer, Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant.

The Blue Marlin serves variety of international style cuisine is offered in an exquisitely lively ambiance. Whether grabbing lunch, including some amazing seafood while chilling by the pool, or enjoying candle lit dinner with friends and family the same standards of culinary excellence, service and personal attention pervade every aspect of Blue Marlin experience. Enjoy your meal indoors where the ambiance is warm and cozy or take in the picturesque views of the Marina from the pool side. For those planning special events, the Blue Marlin provides catering for large parties, wedding receptions, conferences and product launches. We have a fully licensed bar, and we can serve drink with your food, or while you relax by our swimming pool. Our Full Menu is online on out Facebook page. Thanks The Restaurant Team.
Certainly one of the best breakfast spots in Muscat. Well placed on the marina, good service , good selection of dishes and good coffee. A great place to start your day off where you can also relax by the pool, and even get a beer if you want. The car park does get busy with all the trips form the marina, but you can normally get a table here.
Hopefully as this is my second review, and i go at least once every couple of weeks, I;ll qualify for the vouchers offered!!

Driving through Sur at 3pm in the afternoon looking for a food outlet that was open proved rather difficult, luckily we found ZFC! The fried chicken was fresh, hot and crispy (try the wrap) and the Seating area, although small, was both clean and air conditioned. The staff were friendly even though their English was very limited. They also kindly let me use their toilet facilities.

The restaurant recently reopened after renovation and we were in for a surprise - the name changed to Kesar!
The Punjabi thali served here during lunch is value for money apart from being tasty.
Chaat is good and can be had.
It is a vegetarian joint.
Public paid parking is in plenty - but being in the commercial hub - sometimes difficult to find a parking.
Can be tried once if craving for vegetarian meal.

This was our first restaurant meal in Muscat. We reserved a table in advance which is recommended. We enjoyed our meals- eggplant clouds, lamb shuwa and prawn curry. After eating the lamb at Kargeen restaurant The next day I can compare the two lamb dishes and say this lamb was not as succulent as At Kargeen . But with bread and yogurt dip it was still tasty
The location is good down near the Corniche and souk so you can wander after your meal. The restaurant has a nice ambience.

For a buffet, the food is actually rather good (true for both brekafast and dinner), although the dinner buffet is a tad pricey (11 Rial, or almost $30US). There was usually a wide variety of Western, Indian, Omani, and Sri Lankan dishes; one evening, the fish in saffron cream sauce was actually excellent.

Golden Grill House Restaurant (formerly known as Grill House) has been tantalising the taste buds of food lovers since 1993. Try out the tasty array of our extensive menu, and experience the best Chinese and Indian foods.
the Restaurant needs to improve on its ambiance... I would suggest ordering food at home and enjoy in the comfort of home.... Food is awesome kids also love it....Staff at time can be lazy. the place is old and need a lot of renovation...

Visited for breakfast last weekend. Though it was about 10:30, since it was the weekend, the place was quite full. Ordered a Mysore Masala Dosa and Idly Sambar. Though tasty, the chutneys lacked a punch.
