Although there are veggie options...real meat eaters will love this place ,whether the burgers or their speciality steaks...made to perfection! An old world village store ( which part of it still is for the local community, also incorporates a bar and a splendid restaurant.Also if you can persuade one of the rest of your crowd to drive they also have lots and lots of different gins ! Looks like it is off the beaten track, but in reality is an oasis a mile or two from the normal main roads.

The negative review from July refers to an earlier incarnation. The new ownership has only been in place for a few weeks. Our experience was being welcomed by a very friendly young woman on her first day in the job...the menu is substantially different from the usual run-of-the mill South Asian restaurants, and has a large number of vegetarian dishes. Our choices were all delicious, and clearly made with freshly ground spices. It's a new restaurant and very homely and clearly still finding its feet. There were no other customers when we visited (though it was a Monday evening) but Saffron's Spices seems like a very good addition to the local scene. It's so welcome to have fresh and well-cooked vegetarian food, and we wish it well...
