Overbooked our room, terribly rude staff
Reviewed By Liz BFor our stay at Lake Skadar, we had booked a family room with a view at this hotel, after reading about its fantastic location in a travel blog. Once we arrived (no late arrival or anything), we were led to our room, which we then saw was not the room we had reserved. It was a lot smaller and did not have the promised view. As the women attending us had omitted to comment on this mistake, I went to look for her and showed her our reservation, implying that we had reserved a different room. We were then told that they had given our room to a family that had arrived a day before us. A little unsettled about the attitude, as I would have expected to at least be informed about this situation before being led to a different room, I asked her to correct the mistake and switch out the rooms. We had been planning our trip for months, had carefully selected each hotel and room, and did not want to spend a night in the room we were shown. The woman now told us that she was only working there and that the other day someone else had attended the guest and that there was nothing she could do. I then asked to talk to the manager or person in charge, and she said that was not possible. I then asked to talk to the person that had mistakingly given our room to someone else, and she said that this was not possible either. I kept arguing with her, as she kept changing her narrative, soon telling me this was a place managed by a family business, including her, which did not comply with the information she had given me earlier of her "just working there". I asked her to at least be honest with us and that I was insisting on our room and fair treatment which she responded to that she was not a liar and that she could only give us the room she had shown us. In the middle of our conversation, she talked to an older lady that was present there, not sure if that was the owner or whatever was going on. In a nutshell, this place does not respect booking reservations, is not upfront for any changes due to bad management, is not honest about the information they provide you with and since I can't leave a review on booking (as I didn't actually stay at this place), I just hope that through this review this won't happen to other fellow travelers. When you're on vacation, oftentimes planning every detail a long time ahead, you just want to relax and be treated well. We did, of course, cancel our booking (free of charge) and were lucky enough to immediately find a different place nearby, though it was high season.

The rural household is located on the very edge of Skadar Lake with a beautiful view. The village house is located on the slopes of the vineyard. The small road leads through a picturesque area to a small beach. The village provides breaks, relaxation and a getaway from city crowds.

Reviewed By Ed333255120If you are searching around Skadar for a quiet place to stay with an amazing view, does Fantastic dinners (have the fish) and the rooms are spotlessly clean and well done - stay here. You need a car to stay here (as you do for anywhere in lake Skadar). The rooms are well air conditioned and it is a 10 minute walk down to the shore of the lake. Unsure? Do stay here.

This is a fraudulent property
Reviewed By knelssAbsolutely DO NOT stay here. I booked online and paid ahead of time. When I showed up the guest house was closed for the week and the owner, Judmila will not give me a refund. This is a completely fraudulent property and I wouldn’t support her by staying here. If you do book, DO NOT pay ahead of time. And have a backup in case the guesthouse is closed when you arrive.
