Nice interior, very nice service, excellent local food. "Trippa con polenta", the best i have ever had. Also great antipasti (Salami con cipolla e aceto, frico friulano,...) everything "tipico friulano". The lasagne con radicchio was perfect.If you are in that area, a visit is a MUST!

Trattoria che si trova in centro nella frazione di San Leonardo, non distante da San Pietro al Natisone.All'ingresso sembra solo un bar, ma dietro c'è la zona ristorante, arredata in modo rustico, ma l'ambiente è caldo ed accogliente (c'è anche un bel caminetto, che non era in funzione in quel momento). Il cibo è molto buono, in particolare consiglio lo spezzatino con polenta, ma anche i primi sono ottimi.Quel giorno c'era anche un pranzo di ex alpini della zona, il che conferma come il posto sia apprezzato dagli stessi locali.

We ate there at night and managed to order good and well cooked food, however you should be able to speak Italian, because they don't speak German or English. But it was not a big problem.

The owners of the place supplied us with a new definition of the world ospitality. That was not a mere dinner but a travel experience of the best local food, km 0 is the keyword. All the food is supplied by local farms. including meat, pasta and even the saffron. And about the meat I tried the slow cooked chicken in a vacuum bag. Heavenly. At the end of a delicious meal and a good "quartino" of local Refosco e very reasonable and friendly Conto.

If you desire a great meal cooked with local herbs, vegetables and spices, this is the place. A medieval gem set in the woods with intricate wood carvings is the background. The proprietor Maurizio wil tell you everything you can imagine about the local surroundings and perhaps more than you care to know. The food is excellent and different and you won't be disappointed if you let Maurizio choose the dishes for you. Vegetarians are in heaven here, but you can also taste game and assorted meats.

Agroturismo has three very strong advantages: the owner, the food and the standard. First of all, the owner: we had very few possibilities to meet such nice, helpful, cared and friendly person. Then the food: breakfast is very nice, with freshly baked croissants, delicious local honey, fresh fruits and nice coffee. But what is really worth recommending is the dinner. The restaurant is open only from Thursday to Sunday, so make sure your stay includes one of those days. All the dishes were simply gorgeous. Some of them are prepared by Signor Francesco himself. Frico, frittatas, meat - it was all delicious, but my favourite was pasta with duck ragu. You must try! And the wine and antipasti - of a very good quality.We definitely want to come back and we will do. Because it is simply worth it.

After having had many meals of honest delicious local food, we welcome the change to dine at Trattoria Sale e Pepe. Every dish we had was beautifully presented, creative and delicious. The table setting was simple but elegant. Among what we ordered, our favorites were 1) the baccala' and polenta antipasto and 2) fiori di patate (stuffed gnocchi in shape of flower) stuffed with fresh ricotta and zucchini, served in a butter sauce with sauteed zucchini. The service was attentive but not intrusive. We highly recommend this restaurant even though it's a little far to get to.

Our host was an old lady, she was very nice waitress and a perfect cook in one person. And yes, her gnocci con burro e salvia was simple but perfect dish, she put some herbs on the grilled meat and it tasted delicius. It is simple, but you have to know how... Bravo! And, of course, I have to mention that the restaurant is arrounded by trees, with nice view to the valley, it is peaceful place for enjoyable lunch or dinner.

I had a great experience in this place, it's a lovely restaurant (agriturusmo) with a beautiful garden, herbs and flowers all around. Traditional cuisine and very friendly staff. Great view, and prices reasonable. Highly recommended , will definitely be back.
