Looking for somewhere open on a Monday evening in Trento we discovered this gem of a restaurant. Family run but with professional service and great food. We both had pasta for the main course and it was some of the best pasta we have eaten. Home made and perfectly cooked. The prices are very reasonable and the restaurant is obviously a favourite with the locals.

My recent visits have all been excellent and the latest one was no exception, from beetroot filled pasta parcels, to a rabbit cooked in an exemplary way (wonderfully tender and moist) to a delicate but tasty dish of lightly fried local freshwater fish.Desserts are always strong here - this is a chef that, unlike most, really likes this section of the menu and does not see this as an afterthought. This is a superior regional trattoria (though they prefer the term "enological restaurant"), with a fantastic regional (and more) wine list and very good value for money. Service (this time by the son of the owner) was very well informed and pleasant.

Presentation and flavors were spot on. Particularly liked 10-hour slow cooked pork belly.Wine list was extensive with many options by the glass and a good selection of local specialities. The waiter had a good local knowledge also and happily looked up English translations for us. Pretty setting in basement. Well priced for the quality. Definitely worth a visit.

We happened to stay at a hotel in Mattarello outside Trento. We arrived late after a long drive, tired and hungry. We didnt have any expectations of this place and it seemed to be perhaps the only place open. With locals eating, drinking and smoking away, this place was full of atmosphere. The pizzas did not disappoint either. This was one of those places that you "discover".

Youâll be lucky to get into this small, intimate restaurant so make a reservation. There are only about 7 tables and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. This was part of a once private house for nobles who used this as their prayer room...and it feels that way. Five of us went and four had the tuna which was out of this world. Perfectly prepared rare to medium with just the right combination of citrus and capers. Excellent. I could have done without the appetizer which was an artichoke/cheese combo that was too gooey for me. But the deserts!! I think we ordered five and gorged ourselves. It was well worth it. The wine suggestion was perfect as well. A must go in Trento.

The rooms in Belvedere building are spacious, clean and the even numbered rooms have a nice view on the mountains.We stayed at Villa Madruzzo for 5 days over Christmas. The restaurant is open for clients on Christmas and serves tasty Italian food. The local specialty is steak tartare, prepared at the diner table. It was recommended by locals. The spaghetti with gambaâs is a good âprimoâ and most antipasti are excellent. Breakfast buffet is really good and there is a lot of choice.
