Once one of ancient Greece’s most important cities, today Syracuse (Siracusa in Italian) is a lively town of about 125,000 on Sicily’s southeast coast. The city overflows with amazing remnants from its long history. Romans, Vandals and Normans are but a few of those who ruled here after the Greeks. In Syracuse’s harbor, Ortygia Island (also called Città Vecchia or Old City) is the site of many of the main attractions, including the seventh-century cathedral and the Fountain of Arethusa.

Three of us called in on a rainy evening. They recommended an excellent bottle of red which was also reasonably priced. We had the meat and cheese platter which was enormous and really tasty. We also found room for 3 excellent deserts which they matched perfectly with 3 different desert wines. All in all a lovely evening - we highly recommended Evoe!

Visited this amazing lunchtime venue on 3 occasions! The food is to die for. Atmosphere is a real buzz. Staff are really entertaining. Fresh food being prepared on the deli counter. The location is at the end of a wonderful market for food especially fish. It is a little rustic but that is the fun. Really fresh local produce. If you are into this sort of place go for it.

I've been here several times and it has always been deliciously wonderful. A great place for an aperitif or dinner where you are offered a large variety of freshly prepared fingerfood that are unique and made with typical Sicilian ingredients and a great selection of wine is available. If you are still hungry after your aperitif you should stay for dinner as well. Homemade pasta, yummy main dishes as well as desserts. All are truly excellent. (usually there is a selection of 2 types of pasta dishes as well as 2 main dishes) Various vegetarian options are available. The prices are very reasonable! If you are looking for a unique gift to bring home there are various things made by local artists, fabric makers, etc. Try it, you'll like it!

We fell for this nassuming little gastronomia opening onto the street. It beckoned us and we were so rewarded. Great family run place with good cooking and warm service. Great beer and wine,. Choose from appetizing delicacies at the counter. Salumeria, cheeses, caponata, arancini, etc.. A delightful place to stop for a bite when wondering around the Giudecca.

This place does not open until 7.30 in the evenings and since we arrived right on the dot we ate in solitary splendour. No problem with that since it meant the service was slick and the food hot (when it needed to be). We shared an opener of tempura vegetables, a large portion for only 8 euros. We then had shrimp risotto and tuna and mango tartare served with a poached egg o top and asparagus on the side. We shared those too. Scrumptious. All this plus a large bottle of sparkling water and three glasses of white local wine and three of red, all for 70 euros. That plus a nice clean interior with unobtrusive background music and nice staff. We gather it is quite a convivial spot later in the evening but we were not looking for that so were more than happy.Dear Guests, Thank You so much for Your positive feedback and, most of all, for being our kind Guest for one night. We are happy to read You enjoyed the food and beverage offer: Your satisfaction is the best reward! We hope You will retain a good memory of Your experience in Siracusa also thanks to our local. Best Regards, Customer Care Dpt.
