A Spurcacciuna

I titolari Claudio e Pervinca sanno fondere simpatia e professionalita, accolgono e seguono in modo accattivante e discreto i clienti.

Sadly it was too cold to eat on the terrasse- but we were given a great table inside. Fine dining and excellent service, although a little too formal and stiff for our liking. The most expensive meal and wine we had in our 3 weeks in Italy - but very enjoyable for our last and special night. My steak was delicious and tender, and OH's seaflood platter varied and beautifully presented and cooked.

I was visiting Altare because my family came from this little town of glassblowers. This restaurant was recommended by a cousin that had visited town a few years ago. We were not disappointed! We had an excellent lunch, everything fresh and tasty. Our waiter spoke perfect Spanish, so he could explain every dish in perfect detail. And our surprise was even greater when he said he was born in our own country, Uruguay!!
If the main dishes were good, the desserts were exceptional. I had the best chocolate volcano ever!!!
Congratulations, hope you have many years of good work ahead of you!

They brought my food up to my room that I was renting from them while on vacation because their restaurant was fully booked the night I ate there. The local food from the region is showcased at this restaurant. It is simple but amazingly fresh and delicious. It's a fantastic value and you will not be dissappointed. The restaurant is very clean and elegant. You'll feel at home whether it's a small table or a large group of people. So grab all your friends and have a fun, unrushed night out dining and enjoying each other's company.

Okay, so it's kind of themed, in a local, friendly way: specialising in Tuscan beefiness. You'll be presented with a choice of four set menus, depending on price.
We had the 25 and 35 euro options and were presented with a succession of dishes that proved the guys and girls in the glass-fronted kitchen knew very well how to carve'n'cook a cow.
For vegetarians: move along, there's nothing to see here.

We counted 21 different samples (but not so small) of regional food.
Some interesting revisitations of traditional Ligurian regional cooking: snails, rabbit, "panissa", etc
The owner is nice and full of information about the food he serves. Another good thing is the attention to health: no butter in the food, good for the heart.
The price is unbelievable cheap for the quantity and the quality: it's difficult to manage to taste all the dishes!

My husband and I, we are a Dutch couple (44 and 42) went to this restaurant, near Pietra Ligure after an Italian friend of us gave us that tip. She was absolute right!! We ate there outside and we had some marvellous menu. High quality, using fresh products, also from the neigbourhood and absolutely love for good and honest cooking. I spoke to the cook after our lunch and we made him a great compliment. Complimenti, bravo cuoco. Loro passione per i cibi buoni era un grande qualita!
You never regret it, when you are eating there, I am sure. We love Slowfood and are people who love people who are cooking inventive and we are passionate about programs at BBC TV like Masterchef with Greg Wallace and John Torode and Satuday Kitchen. I would also recommend them to go there once!

Sushi Beach

Sushi Beach, a sushi restaurant with mediterranean freshly caught fish. We use only fish that comes from our sea, purple head prawns and fresh oysters. During summer we serve our guests on the Terrace between the swiiming pool and the beach. During winter we move into the Food & Design dining rooms of A Spurcacciun-a restaurant, inside Mare Hotel complex.

The sushi was good, but the tempura batter was heavy and was more suited for battered English fish. Service was great and the waiter was friendly

The typical ‘osteria’, not fancy, not always impeccable in the service, but an extremely satisfying food experience. Dishes all inspired by traditional flavors with good variety and some special piece, like the ‘Fassona’ steak, or the fish ravioli.
Very large portions. And the real surprise is in the price!
Worth visiting if you are in the area. Reservation recommended, the place is always full.
