We visited this restaurant following a recommendation from the manager of our hotel, and we are so glad we did. The surroundings are beautiful. You can sit on the verandah which looks out over vineyards, or inside in the lovely dining room. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, particularly the restaurant manager who is charming and knowledgeable. There is a set menu available featuring classic dishes of Sardinia. The suckling pig was amazing! This menu was served with jugs of very good house wine. You can also choose off the main menu, which was particularly strong on seafood. We enjoyed the experience so much we went two nights in a row!

It's a typical example of "Cucina Sarda". Everything it's coocked in a wood oven. You can choose every kind of meat like chicken, beef, sheep, lamb and obviously the famous "Porceddu Sardu" which is the suckling pig. The amazing service and the quality of the food are the strength of this place! The staff is funny and very polite. A truly Sardinia food experience!

I've found true genuine hospitality at Punto di Ristoro Uttolo. The owner, Mariano knows very well how te make his customers happy and satisfied. Even though I spent only one night and ate a couple of meals at this place, in July, I've made a good impression of this business so I can heartly recommend it.We enjoyed a very good sleep and the food was beyond expectation.To get here, follow the road from Baunei to Santa Maria Navarrese. After around 3km you exit Baunei, you'll see a paved road to your left indicating Pedra Longa; take it and in less than a minute you'll get to Punto di Ristoro Uttolo.Well done Mariano!! Alla prossima volta!

The restaurant is on the main street. We sat outside is was hectic, cramped, and noisy with the cars driving by. Not what we expected for a cozy dinner. The restaurant is very popular, maybe because the prices are cheap. The food was ok and the service good. Would not eat here again but choose a more quiet and upscale place like Lanthia restaurant or Toma.

Da tempo facciamo le vacanze in Ogliastra in quel di Tortolì e devo dire che una steak house di questa caratura e con la qualità della carne cosi prelibata non si trova facilmente,io personalmente l'ho provata la sera di ferragosto con un gruppo di amici e devo dire che è a dir poco eccellente,il prezzo assolutamente nella media,ma non soddisfatti,io e la mia compagna ci siamo tornati il sabato successivo e servizio e qualità erano fantastici,locale elegante e personale preparato con un ottima scelta di birre artigianali non solo sarde,insomma da provare!

This is the new pizzeria that has just opened in the old premises of the much missed "Il Punto", in the centre of Lotzorai where the ss125 turns right at the end of the main road.Currently set up more as a takeaway with seating for 25 or so. The menu only lists pizza but they do steaks and other things but have yet to figure out how to sell them and whether to increase service.Currently the pizza is truly excellent, really tasty, thin crust and nicely cooked. The prices are very cheap with a Margherita costing 4.50 Euros and a Completa just 10 Euros. Drinks are limited but also cheap. Currently if you eat in you get a plastic cup but as the place matures, who knows?

Following an enthusiatic recomendation, we booked dinner at the Agriturismo Nuraghe Murtarbo. Despite knowing the area around Lago SantaLucia quite well, wewould not have found the place without the few sparse signs along the unmade roads that lead to this idyllic place. The farm is quite big but most of the animals are sited within a few hundred metres of the farmhouse and it was lovely seeing the animal collection and a display of milking before settling down to dinner. I was looking forward to the mailaletto and pecora that were being roasted on the spit, but there were about 10 dishes to enjoy before the meat was served. Many of the dishes were specialities of nearby villages and everything was delicious. Following the meat were sebadas and mirto and there was plenty of a very gutsy Cannanou to wash down the meal. The family are charming and made us feel part of the family.Food, aperitif, wine, water, Digestif and coffee was just 28 euros.2 valuable tips. 1 Google maps does show the property if you go to maximum zoom just south of the lago Santa Lucia.2. Wear something with an expanding waist!

We ate here twice during our stay in nearby Baunei. The food is lovely, very authentic and fresh and flavoursome. I had the goat stew one night (huge, filling portion) and then the meatballs and pasta another night. Both amazing meals. Very friendly and attentive service, well worth a visit. Book in advance as it oes get busy every night.
