We were staying not far from this restaurant in a villa that is actually owned by the same gentleman who owns this restaurant! Our villa was as lovely as the restaurant.From the main road through Castagneto Carducci the restaurant doesn't look much, but you can drive through a narrow archway (parking is available but limited), and you are rewarded with the most amazing view of the Tuscan Hills! We went for my boyfriends birthday dinner, had a fab table on the edge so we could see the beautiful view and sunset. We ate in the restaurant, there is also a separate part which is the pizzeria. The service and food was fantastic, pasta to die for and lovely wines. I would definitely recommend this lovely gem, it's not in the main town area, just on the road coming in or out of CC depending which way you are going!a heartfelt thanks from all the staff of Il Vecchio Frantoio restaurant, we hope to see you soon!

This was our second visit to this restaurant, the first being last year and we were eager to go back. The restaurant itself is in the small town square, its worth booking a table and going for a drink in the bar opposite for a truly leisurely evening. Their seafood risotto is unbeatable and their T bone steak was excellently cooked and incredibly flavoursome. They have an extensive pizza menu but sometimes only a margarita will do, theirs is simply perfect! It is excellent value for money and a lively outdoor atmosphere.

Overviewing the local ancient natural SPA, this restaurant is an absolute temple of gourmand food. We had exceptional fish and vegetable appetizers, superb paccheri pasta and an authentic warm apple pie with home made gelato!Dear vibocc,thank you very much for your opinion, we are pleased that you had a great stay in our restaurant. I often visit Elena and they are always nice and welcoming, despite they're always fully booked - also during Fall-Winter season!Their fish dishes are really a great experience, not to mention their pizza: I suggest to book a "pizza scomposta" also to share as an entry, in which Paolo performs to his top through great matches of the best flours and best ingredients on top of your pizza.

We ordered five pizzas and one green salad. Pizzas were fine, nothing exceptional and the green salad that arrived was a bowl of iceberg lettuce, no trimmings and no dressing! The waiters were clearly too rushed off their feet to even smile. The basic cost was fine but no points for atmosphere, some nice italian music would have helped .

A really nice restaurant located in the middle of the city but still away from the tourist traps. Dining on the restaurant's balcony is really cozy with a fantastic view over this medieval city. A must try.The food was also very nice with good selection of local Italian dishes and a good variety of wines. Definitely worth a visit.

Can I start with a wow???? Well, I have to because when I saw my appetizer my husband and I were tuned as in a choir with our wows ! The dish was composed of four rolled pieces of white fish stuffed with leeks, and topped with a thin slice of tartufo. It was served in a sauce as gold as a sunset made with saffron. The flavors where revealed in such a way that I was just in a cloud! My second dish was their homemade paste with shrimp, little cubes of potatoes in a white sauce. It was really delicious. My husband ordered their homemade raviolis with a white ragu sauce, very delicate. Now I am not too keen on the boar meat because it is always made too strong. However, here the boar was really delicate and I loved it. Then dessert... Well I guess you need to go there and experience it all! I love the atmosphere ! I also loved everyone that worked there! Really wonderful people! We complimented the chef and his wife for this wonderful sensorial experience!

We have dined at this amazing restaurant on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed. Marco is a brilliant chef, committed to providing his diners with the ultimate dining experience. He only serves fresh fish, prepared in healthy, creative presentations. This is truly our favorite restaurant in Tuscany.
