Born in Calabria and a frequent visitor to Italy I was told by my cousin who owns restaurants of his own, to visit Le Zagare during my visit to Lecce. We were not disappointed. It was one of the best meals we had. We let Aurelio, owner, order some of the house special appetizers and they did not disappoint. Most were his original creations. The black ink squid was spectacular. In short fantastic. The Resturant is spotless and in season has outdoor seating. He and his chefs are trained in Lecce culinary schools and have been rated # 1 regional Resturant many times. WELL WORTH THE TRIP. In fact we returned to eat there prior to leaving the area another day.

Don't be fooled by the setting, this is an amazing restaurant. The chef changes the whole menu every day based on what's freshly available, the presentation is top notch and the service friendly yet professional. I can't recommend it enough.
