via Pisana angolo via dell' Acciaiolo a Scandicci
We recently stayed in a wonderful location near Scandicci, that provided great accommodations, but no food. We were looking for a laundry after a few days of wearing the same clothes, and lucked into this little spot right down the street from the laundromat. We were a bit of a novelty, being from the US, but were well treated, and the waitress was happy to have someone to practice her english with (which was pretty good already!). We had dinner here a few days, tentatively starting with open-oven baked pizza, and getting more adventuresome each day. After a few days we were greeted like locals! This is not a gourmet place, just a great small place where the locals come to eat, or carry out. Need a place that locals like, for a reasonable priced meal? Give this place a try!

Pizza ( and more... )
My friends and I have been going to this little pizza place during our stay. You choose the pizza you want, then they weigh it and heat it in the oven. It is different from the traditional pizza, more like an open faced sandwich...fresh ingredients and friendly staff. There is a washroom, and a few high tables with stools. Go early because sometimes they sell out.

Whow! What a restaurant!!Incredibly busy but youthful and pleasant staff well able to cope with a full restaurant with queues waiting for tables as previous diners left.Cozze, mussels. In a peppery soup for starters and a combination of frito misto de mare with vegetables tempura for the main course for me and melon and ham starter and grilled fillet beef for my wife were all excellent and served hot and cooked exactly as requested. Other patrons had a variety of dishes including a vast choice of pizzas and pastas. The wine selection was good and prices were reasonable.Worth a visit.
Abbiamo cenato direttamente in loco, consigliati da chi già vi aveva mangiato, pizza molto molto buona, ingredienti di qualità e scelta piuttosto varia.Locale semplice e informale, personale gentile e disponibile.Abbiamo assaggiato vari tipi di dolci, babà ottimo.Ottimo anche il rapporto qualità prezzo.Torneremo sicuramente,lo consiglio.

This place was a 15 min walk from our Airbnb and totally worth it! It's not in the tourist area so while there's definitely tourists dinning there, there were also many Italians there too. The staff was very welcoming and kind. We enjoyed our pizzas, and they were definitely the best we had in Italy! Lots of options and the ingredients tasted very fresh!

Locale moderno e giovanile dove mangiare e bere ascoltando musica in vinile
We found Melloo while searching for a place for dinner on our first night in Florence. We were staying close at a hotel close to the river, so we needed to take a cab to get there. The owner was friendly and very helpful to us in selecting which pizza to order and in choosing a beer to go with it. And the pizza was amazing, along with the craft beer. Everything was fresh and tasty. We even topped it off with a cannoli with pistachios for dessert, and the owner was even kind enough to call a taxi for us. Thanks for a wonderful dinner!Thank you so much for your review!it was very nice to have you as a guest at melloo. When you return you will be welcome as always.

Perfect Italian dining experience. We sat outside, under a massive olive tree for shade, on colourful wooden chairs. The menu was in Italian only and pizzas are only available at dinner time. The burratini with arugula and truffles was creamy and so fresh. The pastas were all perfectly cooked, aromatic and extremely satisfying. Staff were friendly and chatty.

We stayed in Scandicci for one week and loved this place so much, we went there twice! The first time it was the birthday of one of our compagnions and they gave us a bottle of wine on the house and a birthdaycandle on the cake of the birthdayboy! The biggest plus is the quality of the food: everytime they manage to serve us a delicious meal! And the hospitality is great as well! And it's not expensive either! Inez, thank you from all our team. We really appreciate your words about us.
