Whilst this is a great big place, it still has lots of character with its vaunted ceilings and interesting decor. Large, noisy and full of families - it was a great spot for a really good pizza (simple and tasty), and fast friendly service.

We chose to sit inside as it was cooler there. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly with wine choices (of which there are many local ones). They were also very happy to recommend reasonably priced choices by the glass rather than upselling.The starter portions were very generous- the bruscetta was 3 large slices with different toppings, and the assorted cheeses and jams filled the board. There were quite a few wild boar based recipes and the seared wild boar mortadella with lentils was delicious and filling. Most dishes were under 10 euros. We ended up buying a bottle of local Chianti to take home, which certainly didn't disappoint, again with helpful guidance without pressure. We'd definitely return!

We took the cable car up to the old town and had lunch here following a recommendation from our B & B hosts. They had booked us a front table on the outdoor terrace overlooking gorgeous scenery. Ravioli filled with cheese and asparagus was delicious as was the steak. Friendly attentive service and nice wines by the glass.

We enjoyed a fantastic meal here whilst spending a week at nearby La Fonte. The restaurant was recommended by the owner of La Fonte but suggested we book to make sure as it can get busy. I called and made a reservation no problem. The service, advice etc were all fantastic from the owner and his daughter. He came and explained all the options on the menu and what the daily specials wereWe opted for all courses and am glad we did as each one was superb. It was truly the best meal weâve had so far on our Italian tour and I donât expect it to be beaten. I went for the Tuscan salamis starter, the mother Edaâs spinach and ricotta stuffed lasted and duck sauce, the âTuscan Tunaâ (amazing pork loin) before ending with the tiramisu. The other half had the pecorino and jams, followed by the pasta with cheese and sausage (this was amazing) and followed with the beef fillet and the chocolate dessert.Iâd return without hesitation and strongly recommend all stopping in Certaldo or San Gimignano to get down there and give it a go!Grazie per la vostra bella recensione è pura felicità per tutto il nostro staffGiampiero Niccolini

We ate here twice during our week in Tuscany.The service is generally excellentThe ravioli excellentThe local chicken also excellentThe steak we felt a little chewy The complaint from me is from our second visit. We ordered the chicken with truffle from the main menu (page open, pointed, used my poor Italian). The waiter asked if we wanted white or black (which we took to mean an option with that dish) , we shrugged, and said white.It wasn't until our bill came that we realised white dish is twice the price. For those who know truffles I'm sure that's obvious, but there was no warning or redirection to the separate truffle special menu.When we raised this we were simply told "I asked if you wanted black or white", and that was the end of the conversation. I can't really fault the food, but I think a more professional host would mention when they're taking you off main menu, or show some appreciation for the fact you clearly shrugged when asked to make the choice in the first place.Shame, walked away from a nice dinner frustrated and annoyed rather than planning to return. You can sit outside and marvel at how the traffic, including long buses, manges the tight streets and corners. We had coffee and ice -cream - they have some interesting creations, even if a bit pricy. Toilets were very pleasant.
