Poor reception staff, excellent waitress
Reviewed By tim252When I made the booking I specifically asked for a twin bedded room in the quietest part of the hotel. We were given a king sized bed right next to the lift shaft above the front door facing the busy road, so much for customer service, When we checked in, despite there being many members of staff around not one of them offered any help with our luggage or even having the manners to hold a door open whilst we struggled. The same thing happened when we left, once again a member of staff standing by the exit door just watched us struggle. If a manager reads this he/she should consider giving reception staff some coaching in basic good manners. Our waitress could give them some guidance, she was excellent.Our evening meal was very good and she made the experience an enjoyable one

A bit far from standards
Reviewed By Diego KHotel is not entirely bad. Rooms are kind of ok. But that's about it. It might even be the best option in Parana, no argue with that. But bath tubs have bath curtains, furnitire is not in optimal form, and TVs in bedrooms are too small! Ridiculously small. There is no room service after midnight, breakfast service is near to awful, and bathrooms in the lobby are closed at night, just because they don't have personal to clean them . Service at the restaurant is not even near standards. At breakfast there is no one at all, not even to clean used tables. They really need to improve on service.

Reviewed By sebsk4I have had a horrible experience at the Provincial. It is an old and tired hotel. Hot water is limited. Neither towels nor shampoo at rooms, you have to request them. Breakafst is awful. Stay away from this scratch, please.

The breakfast was one of the better we had in Argentina - plenty of bread/toast, croissants, cakes and drinks. The bad: Had a bizarre experience at check-out when Susana demanded we paid 75 pesos (about US$9) for a chipped tea-cup that she thought we were responsible for. A cross between a scene out of Fawlty Towers and the behaviour of a clip joint (cup was clearly worth a fraction of 75 pesos). It ruined what was otherwise a reasonable stay and find it difficult to recommend the place because of this.

Reviewed By JohnSCDI guess that Gualeguaychu isn’t on the itinerary of many Europeans unless your there for business of the local Carnival. I was there for business and Posado del Puerto made for an interesting alternative to a cheap hotel, typical of industrial cities. The accommodation was a sort of log cabin or shed which had basic amenities. Beware of leaving the lights on at night though because you may be infested with what I can only imagine were young crickets which seemed to like what was on TV more than me. However, despite the basic accommodation and occasional visit from larger creepy crawlies, the atmosphere of the place was excellent and the staff really willing to help out. I would advise taking an English to Spanish app for those trickier questions (if you don’t speak Spanish) and maybe a swimming costume for the pool. Don’t expect too much from the accommodation and you won’t be disappointed. The food was good and the wine remarkably cheap so it’s definitely worth a try if you fancy a step up from camping.
