We are regular visitors to Scalea and this bar is our go-to for breakfast, dinner and drinks. Run by Luca and his charming wife Rossana the bar offers a delicious American breakfast to set you up for a day on the beach and then you can return for aperitivo, dinner and late evening drinks. Luca is a big music fan so the recorded sounds on offer are always the very latest from his extensive playlist and once a week during the season a live band plays on the open air terrace. The drinks menu is extensive with every conceivable cocktail to interest you and 'specials' made to order if you're a connoisseur. For eats, there's a wide choice from authentic burgers (available at both lunch and dinner time), salads, pancakes and sandwiches so you won't leave unsatisfied. With its central location Bar Genova is in pole position amongst the other bars and eateries in town to satisfy your every need at any time of the day. Scalea just wouldn't be Scalea for us without Bar Genova.

Andando a villeggiare a San Nicola da 20 anni, frequento spesso questo bar. All'inizio i cornetti erano molto buoni e pieni, ma da qualche anno vedo una riduzione. Inoltre quando compri un caffè non ti danno nemmeno un bicchiere d'acqua obbligandoti a comprare una bottiglina. Poi molto spesso è affollato e si rallentano gli ordini, ma a volte anche quando c'è poca gente si imballano. Positivo il fatto che è l'unico bar del paese a fare produzione propria. Prezzi da bar sulla spiaggia (per gelati e biliardino) nonostante sia in pieno centro

Great selection of teas. Great service and price. Nicely appointed place. Great location (central) in the pedestrian zone of Scalea. Nice to sit either outside during seasonal weather, on inside. Great any time of the day. I highly recommend.

Had great drinks and conversation at the Stardust. The host made us Bloody Marys...and they were the best. A week before, we visited the Mille Bar in Lecce...voted the #1 bar in Italy...but the Bloody Mary's at this bar were #1 and the very best in Italy. Bravo!

We've been meaning to come to this pub for awhile, so when my friend's band was playing here, we thought why not? Glad we did. Casual pub atmosphere with great burgers. I got the cheeseburger with cheddar cheese and a couple of onion rings. Excellent meat and trimmings. My wife had the hamburger with a fried egg, she loved it. Daughter had the vegetarian burger with the patty made with spinach, again she loved it. Good selection of beers and a nice atmosphere.

Il Vicolo is a unique wine bar in the old town of San Nicola Arcella. The food and wine are excellent and really good value - served by attentive and friendly staff. The owners have gone to a lot of trouble to provide an authentic traditional Calabrese ambiance with light entertainment most evenings in the summer. Guests sit in a courtyard in front of the vineria which makes for a very pleasant evening outdoors... the best place to go for a drink after dinner!
