Heartfelt atmosphere and down home tastes: great Venetian speck (smoked ham), the best pumpkin gnocchi ever, combined with pleasant welcome smiles and a more than worthy red wine.Definitely to be experienced, every season makes Cansiglio - and so Genziana - a delightfully different place.

Just two kilometers from the Cansiglio village and not more than 15min from the St. Croce Lake, the restaurant offer a menu, not really very large but tasty and fresh.Nice speciality for the local area, called "Cimbre" as the name of the population, will make you appreciate the mountain.Generally the portion are good and the quality is high, sweets too are tasty and fresh.A good restaurant, not exceptional but definitely worth a visit.Definitely better to reserve as, there few tables.Parking for the car is just in front.

Very good authentic northern Italian (Friuli) cuisine.....variety of cold meats and cheeses for an antipasto, pasta and fogoli soup, and wild boar and polenta as a main....my mouth is watering just writing this. Very quaint modern restaurant tucked away on the backside of Lago di Barcis. If it wasn't for some locals I don't think I would have ever found it. Went there for a Saturday afternoon lunch with family and good thing we made reservations as they were turning people away. Service and food was excellent. I believe they also have a few hotel rooms upstairs, but can't comment on those.

Everytime I visit this area I have to stop and have lunch here for some real authentic local food. I love their past and fogoli soup. Big family style restaurant that is always busy. Reservations are recommended for Sunday lunch. I usually get there sausages and polenta as a main course, but their pastas and gnocchi are very good as well.
