McDonald's

As a True Brit, I went to a foreign country and could not speak a word of the native tongue.McDonald's have come up with a simple way around this. You go to the self service point, click on the union flag and order in English.Only 1 minor problem, when you get to pick up the order, if the item is out of stock, then you need to try to interact.IF, Mcs could integrate this into their stock control system this would be perfect!

Caffetteria Eraclio

Italians love their aperitivo! It is usually a soft or alcoholic beverage served along a plethora of finger food and snacks, which differ by region.Southern Italy has a much slower pace, if you walk around in the afternoon before five all towns are ghost towns. After that it starts coming alive: shops open (up to ten in the evening) and people crowd the street till late into the night. We quickly adjusted to the local pace and went for aperitivo at 8. As wee loved the giant bronze Eraclio statue we decided to sit in the very nice Eraclio Caffetteria, opposite the statue! The aperitif was really good but what they brought along with it was a full meal! Small delicious sandwiches, cheeses, olives, small bruschette, panzerotti: they kept coming till we asked to put an end to it! Everything was freshly made so no rush, but again you pick up the pace and you enjoy the people, the view and the incredible weather (we were sitting outside in the evening and it was February, 18 degrees Celsius! The caffetteria is run by a lovely couple and when my husband decided to taste their ice cream as well, we were told the owner invented the recipe for the ice-ream wafer as he wasn’t satisfied with what he found on the market. It took him six months to come up with the perfect recipe: a wafer that stays crunchy for half an hour even if filled with ice cream. It is a sort of a thin waffle crust in a shape of a cone filled with the best ice cream ever!Price was amazingly cheap for what we got!Make sure you go to the right bar, there are two side by side! It is really worth the trip!

Paninart, the Italian Slow Food

I've been here on a late hour to have a snack for my wife and me for takeaway. It took like 15 minutes to prepare one Panini and one other thing (crispy bread with tomatoes). The Panini itself was quite good, the other thing not. What annoyed me most, was the smell inside the location while waiting for the food: it was just like some air-conditioner-deo from a car...that's just not what you expect in a restaurant!
