Pool and beach area amazing, rooms are so so

The double bed we got were just two twins we had to shove together, the beds are not comfortable, the AC sometimes gets error messages and stops cooling properly. The floor I think is not well soundproofed, we were constantly woken by someone moving something upstairs, like louder than if they were in the very same room with us. The parking area is too small for the amount of card so be prepared to squeeze it into the most weird difficult spot in the courtyard, but at least you can still park it within, outside there is a lot of public parking but it looks kind of sketchy. The Wifi didnt reach our rooms, so we had no internet. The good parts: the pool is amazing, you can just relax in the beds with umbrellas and have an amazing time there, the pool is immaculate and makes for a great place to relax. And if you walk a couple of meters further they have beds and umbrellas at the beach as it is beachfront. The fact that this part is so amazing, it really is such a pity that they don't upgrade the rest of the hotel (i.e. the rooms) to go along with how nice it is when you are outside. And a warning: the restaurant is overpriced for less than average quality food, don't eat here.

It's not obvious from the description, but you can walk down to the beach - although we needed to take a few rests on the way back up as it's quite high. But it was good not have to take the car to get to the beach or local restaurants - and it is a lovely walk along the beach to the Turkish Steps.

Nice Property in an Average Town
Reviewed By WanderingFoodie2We stayed at this hotel to visit the Valley of the Temples. For a 1 night stay, I would definitely recommend the hotel. The rooms and the service are great. The town of Porto Empedocle is not itself worth a visit, but the Alta Marea is a good choice for accessing the Valley of the Temples and the Scala dei Turchi.

Chic and Great Location
Reviewed By Giovanna FWe stayed at B&B Mediterraneo for one night. We wish we could have stayed longer. Silvia has a beautifully kept place; very clean with a chic boutique hotel feel. Located on a quiet street. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was a savoury spread of plentiful options. Great coffee, and bead! The main square in Empedocle, just a couple of blocks away, had many options for lunch and dinner. The square bustles with activity in the evening. Silvia's B&B is also a short drive to the Turkish Stairs. We would certainly stay here again when we drive through these parts of Sicily in the future.

Bath tub, marble floors and walls in the bathroom, frescos in the ceilings, and ancient furniture. The bathrooms are private but outside the rooms: anyway since there are just 2/3 rooms you still keep your privacy. Air conditioning and water and fruits at your arrival. Also a common living room where to drink some wine or just relax.

Proximity to Valley of the Temples Rescues this Motel
Reviewed By Boomer1956Not a place to visit or stay at in the off-season, however as a motel 15 minutes from the Valley, it allows for good pre-day trippers arrival at the information centre/ticket/parking area. Motel has in-room smoking and our was very heavily deodorised. Very unfortunate and quite uncomfortable. Local restaurants still open and a long walk on the beach recommended. Not much else there, so arrive at the end of the day. Breakfast OK, and staff nice. Expect some small groups at breakfast (e.g. Bike tours) and therefore a bit of a 'seagull fight' for food may ensue. Staff responsive and helpful, so not really an issue. Good car parking security. Not really a bus/train stopover.

Terrible beds, shower drips water, really bad treatment
Reviewed By fergauchoWe stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is situated seafront and the outside are is comfortable. The rooms are wore down, smell terrible, and the shower only drips water. The pool bed covers are all stained and the hotel maintenance is questionable. When we asked for support, most of the time we were told: “this is the way it works, if you don’t like it, you can leave” Honestly, I would never recommend this hotel.
