Step into the past and experience another world while having modernity within reach

A grand family home, almost like a museum, with wonderful paintings and antiques abound to study at leisure, many labelled to explain their dates and artists. The grounds are wonderful and all secure behind electric gates - we parked our car inside, though there was space on the street. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable and our bathroom just outside the room. Other then air-conditioning, double glazing and new mattresses, the villa has had no obvious modernisation that we noticed, which is its charm! The villa has been in the same family for generations. The senior owners were constantly at hand to open the gates or fetch us a bottle of water etc. Madam prepares a modest breakfast with homemade local dishes for self service - they speak Italian with a smattering of English. Their son speaks perfect English but is not present full time. The location is within a 5 minute walk to the metro which will take you into Naples in 15 minutes (must visit the archeological museum). A 20 minute walk from the villa will take you to the ancient site of Herculanum. The streets are pleasant to walk through, if rough pavements, without stress, observing the local colour. We found people were very helpful when we asked for directions, going out of their way to assist. Note: though the villa is grand, Portici is far from a sophisticated area, though is cleaner and quieter than Naples. Each evening we walked to 'La Traditionne' restaurant where we ate and were treated like kings. We had booked 2 nights but changed this to 3, preferring to stay in a quiet area with a great restaurant rather than move into Naples. There are plenty of modern charmless hotels which all seem the same, there is isn't another like this!

Mario was extremely helpful in arranging to meet us at the end of long day riding from Rome to Portici, then gave us suggestions for some good restaurants within walking distance. The room was very clean and quiet. The B&B is located in small unit complex that is secure and well maintained. We only stayed one night as a transit stop from Rome to Sorrento and was the alternative option that travelling into busy Naples i would recommend this as a great option for the budget conscious traveller that does not want to forego quality and cleanliness

The sisters were very friendly and hospitable hosts. They are there to assist you whenever you need their help. I stayed there for one month and two weeks and I felt as if I was in my own home. At Villa Preziosa, you won't feel as if you were a stranger. The rooms are very clean and neat. The place itself is very quiet and safe and can be reached by bus nearby or train. I would always love to return to this place.

Overnight stay

My wife and I stayed overnight with Nuncia as we were on our way to Capri from Rome. The room was very modern and clean. The host was very warm and welcoming and her coffee was excellent. We had a good nights rest and would definitely recommend Bellatrix as a good stopover place. Our only criticism was we struggled to find the place as the house number and name are very small and not easy to see from a car.

Excellent B&B with a wonderful view

Reviewed By Pia_A_W

We stayed in the B&B for 1 Week an it was excellent. The room was very clean, modern and had a wonderful view at the sea and the whole Neapolitan bay. The typical Neapolitan breakfast was extraordinary. Every morning we got a homemade breakfast which differed every day (Bruschetta, fresh fruit, croissant, cake, puff pastry filled with Mozzarella and eggplant ... just to name a few), tea, juice and fresh coffee. Because the breakfast was freshly prepared for us, we were free to decide when we wanted to have breakfast. Our host Sarah was very nice and always there for us when we had questions. Furthermore the B&B is just 3 Minutes away from the railway, with which it is easy to reach Napoli in 20 Minutes. All in all we can fully recommend this B&B and would definitely stay there again.

The B&B family is located less than 10 minutes away from the train station, therefore it was ideal for us, as we had to catch the train to watch the Napoli football game, and we also travelled to Sorrento. The property is well maintained, there is a mini fridge in each room, which is a bonus, and the patio area is ideal if you want to have a drink outside. The staff made us feel at home, in fact as soon as we arrived, they made us a nice espresso coffee. Breakfast was pretty much continental, although one day we asked for sandwiches, and Olga made them for us. However i would pay a small supplement for an english breakfast on request. However we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you very much from all of us. Roberto, Thomas, Jack and Gino.
