I visited Podebrady and remembered this Cafe from my previous trip here. This time I decided to enjoy breakfast here and I really enjoyed it. I got eggs with bacon, toasts with ham and cheese and sausages. Have you ever gotten sausages served in a pot with hot water so that they could keep warm? If not, visit this place. Atmosphere is nice, French type of cafe, the staff is very friendly and prices more than acceptable. This place is really a good value for money. The only thing I did not like was the smoking area, which is weird. Fortunatelly one could not smell much the smoke. Cafe accepts credit cards.

The restaurant is close to the main Podebrady collonade.
They have daily lunch menu for very good price - great, tasteful food, no typical Czech "pork, dumplings and sauerkraut" but meals which other restaurants in the city do not usually offer.
Staff is also very nice.
I can warmly recommend you to eat there.

My husband and I had read a good review of the Park Cafe and it was near our hotel, so we sought it out for a late lunch. The outside tables look attractive with their big umbrellas but the tables were all full of smokers and the umbrellas were keeping this mass of smoke in the area. The service was extremely slow. My husband ordered the couscous and vegetable lunch special which was quite good, but the pizza I ordered, marguerite with cheese and basil was terrible. All in all it was a very unpleasant experience.

The restaurant is located not far from the center but in a quiet location in the middle of the forest. The interior is tastefully furnished in style. Absolutly fantastic food, meat specialties, homemade dumplings, original sweet desserts such as chocolate cream with oranges... Friendly and professional staff. Also very reasonable price.

This was attached to the Hotel Soudek which we were staying. I think the food was fine and our waiter was very friendly.

We really enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. The high vaulted ceilings was nice (not so claustrophic) as some. They also had a nice separate place for then non-smokers and a nice atmosphere. Our service was good. I had one of the fish items (can't remember), but it was nicely done.

We stumbled on this Restaurant when we were in the Czech in May, amazing food, we came back in December, I ordered what I previously had (because it was so outstanding), and again, was NOT disappointed. The food is fresh made, the garlic soup, outstanding, the specialty I have now had twice is chicken and pork layered between potato pancakes with a mushroom onion sauce, OUTSTANDING! The estaurant is clean and people extremely nice. This restaurant DID have an English menu.

My second visit to this restaurant after a gap of two years. I think the ownership may have changed but the food is still fantastic. Dined with four others and all our dishes were delicious, beautifully cooked and presented. No wonder booking is essential - it is a small restaurant. For a meal like this in a UK top restaurant you would pay triple the price. All dishes are reasonably priced and a child's portion was no trouble. Attentive, pleasant service - English is spoken. Deserts all home made and wonderful.
Lovas is also a Pension. I didn't stay there - if I did I'd never leave.

The restaurant has lot of space, both outside and inside. It actuall leads to the situation, when there is plenty of people during the lunchtime and you wait quite long for the service. But the staff is nice and tries to fulfill every wish. The restaurant serves their original beer Poděbradský zdroj - it is not the best you could drink in Poděbrady, but interesting (12° is better than 11°). Meals go well together will the beer, I had grilled vegatable and chicken and it was ok, maybe there could be little bit more. A playground for kids is advertised, but it is just one swing and a smal table with chairs. However, the overall experience was good, nice location in the park by the river Labe. I would come again.
