Boutique and budget mean, implicit, dirty?
Reviewed By MariaGasemHuanbuttaWe booked this hotel because it is new, opened early 2019, but considering that, due to covid, the hotel was closed 3 months, then the hotel is barely 2 years old. Expected, wrongly, that after 3 months closed due to a pandemic, should reopen pristine clean, upside down and insideout, I dont understand why our room, specially the bathroom was dirty and full of ants. The towels have an unsettling brown-ish color as well as the bed sheets. Location is bad, far from everywhere but again being a new hotel and the only, apparently, good option, we hoped that we were not going to suffer much, but, unfortunately, although we like Phrae, there is not infraestructure and good accommodation. The bathroom was hideous, full of yellow stains, rusty on the floor, black around the pipes and full of ants rumning in and out of the room, probably to eat in the carpet that covers the corridors. Carpet, which its use, I dont understand in a tropical country, so warm as Thailand. The desk, close to the kettle and coffee facilities, was also full of ants. I dont complain because of room size or bathroom size but I dont and I wont ever understand why, even cheap has to be dirty and smelly, considering during and through this pandemic the hotel/s have to be totally disinfected, specially for personal hygiene. It is a pity I disnt take any photo. We will not be back

Very good in budget price
Reviewed By KritsanaP_13The hotel is located in Phrae city center. It's surrounding with restaurants nearby. Room is new, clean and comfortable. apartment is clean and comfortable. There is sitting area, fridge, hot water pot and television in a room. Shower room and toilet is quite small. Breakfast is served in hotel cafe namely "Hug Mug". It's a la carte menu. One food for one person with coffee, tea and fruit.

A rural Thai farm experience. A fun, unique design set in the middle of rice fields with delightful mountain views. With 2 ponds and geese, the farm grows a variety of local herbs, fruits and vegetables. A great base for exploring rural northern Thai life with a range of exploration activities. 4 rooms with views. The staff is English and Thai fluent and there to help in anyway.

Not a lot of inspiration
Reviewed By Mary WFriendly staff on check in and check out. The hotel is quaint. There is a nice reading area upstairs. The rooms are small but have a large fridge. The bed is as hard as a rock so not comfortable at all, really needs a topper on the bed. The air conditioning compressor is very loud, I had to wear ear plugs to get some sleep. But the worst thing was the rooster outside near my room that woke me up at 5 am. So if your a light sleeper and do not like a hard bed give this a miss. Price should have been cheaper for what was provided. I did not have the breakfast so cannot comment on the food.

Reviewed By tle_thitiโรงแรมติดถนนใหญ่ ออกจากกลางเมืองประตูชัยมานิดหน่อย ถ้ามีรถก็ไม่มีปัญหาอะไร โซนนั้นมีแต่ร้านขายเสื้อผ้า มัดย้อม หม้อฮอม เดินดูได้เลย หรือ จะขับรถไปอีกก็มีเลือกอีกเยอะ อาหารเช้าจะให้เลือกไว้เลย ตอนเช้าเค้าจะเอาอาหารที่สั่งไว้มาอุ่นแล้วเสิร์ฟ ห้องพักได้ชั้น 1 ก็ถือว่าโอเค ไม่ต้องเดินขึ้นบันได ราคาห้องธรรมดา 690 รวมอาหารเช้า อุปกรณ์อำนวยความสะดวกก็พร้อม มีคาเฟ่ด้วย และ รับคนละครึ่งสำหรับคาเฟ่ กาแฟรสชาติใช้ได้แต่ไม่เข้มเท่าไหร่

Ok for short stay
Reviewed By Camdu1A long walk from the bus terminal. Yes it's a quaint and quirky guesthouse with flamboyant wooden structure. The smiling lady at the reception showed me 3 different rooms. A very compact single for 350 Bt or a larger double room for 450 Bt which I took. Fairly basic room with typical firm bed, noisy AC and fan. An even noisier fridge that I turned off. Small bathroom that floods with water when using the shower. But good water pressure and warm shower. A bit shabby and could do with a good clean but it was fine for 3 nights. Downstairs there is a hot water urn with usual instant coffee or tea. Breakfast is white toast !!! Better to walk 15 minutes up to the market for food. No English is spoken. The staff are cheerful. Each morning the owner comes in her Mercedes to collect the money! Good location close to the night market and nearby walking street on the weekend. Tip - free bicycles available at municipal office marked on free tourist map. Phrae is a delightful town with plenty to see and seems completely untouristed. Only 1 other foreigner staying here. Go to the Baantep museum near the market to see an amazing collection and unbelievable teak house.
