Nafplio (Greek: Ναύπλιο) is a seaport town in the Peloponnese in Greece that has expanded up the hillsides near the north end of the Argolic Gulf. The town was an important seaport held under a succession of royal houses in the Middle Ages as part of the lordship of Argos and Nauplia, held initially by the de la Roche following the Fourth Crusade before coming under the Republic of Venice and, lastly, the Ottoman Empire. The town was the capital of the First Hellenic Republic and of the Kingdom of Greece, from the start of the Greek Revolution in 1821 until 1834. Nafplio is now the capital of the regional unit of Argolis.

On our third visit to Nafplion which is a great little town by the sea, we found the Aiolos,. situated in a traffic free street between the 'main drag' and the sea. Our excellent lunch started with some nibbles followed by slices of fried aubergine with a sauce. Our main dish was a moussaka and salad followed by expressos - they generously gave us slices of apple and cake with honey, and a small flask of ouzo. With a Fix beer and a glass of rose we paid euro31 plus a good tip. The service was good and the staff friendly. In all highly recommended

We absolutely loved it! Nothing negative to say!Very well priced, restaurant decor was unique to the name Scuola, staff was so polite and attentive.The food was delectable! Pizza crust was crunchy and tasted like heaven. Was so good it deserved a second visit! Will be missed! Thank you so much and well done!

In a village not far from Nafplio, you can enjoy tasty meat dishes , freshly made. Lamb chops , sausage with leek and wild pork souvlaki is a must!!!

I had dinner three times in this restaurant this summer. The staff is very cool and helpful, the food is good and homemade with fresh product (frozen stuff is clearly mentionned). There are a lot of restaurant in Nafplio, this one is located centrally in the old city but a bit far from the tourist streets, the atmosphere is pleasant both in the terrace and inside.Very good value for money, try it, very little chance to be desappointed.Getting a table outside could be challenging at peak hour.

After a good experience two years ago, we visited Il Porto again. We (3 adults) ordered a starter and a main course. The starters were ok, but the main course came immediately after without our asking. The Restaurant was almost empty, so no need for this rush. The two ladies had Tagliatelle that was overcooked. The Calzone was big but not very tasty. Nobody of the staff asked what we thought about the food or the service.

Visited Lichnari because of the excellent trip advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The wine marinated pork and the local sausages were excellent. We had 8 different dishes and all of them were excellent. The only item that was a bit disappointing was the Lichnari salad - it somehow didnât cut it for me. The owner, who actually did the serving was very helpful and friendly. â¬70 for four of us, including a bottle of wine and dessert.

Pidalio Mezedopoleio was a recommendation by the owner of our rental apartment. The food was decent enough - my mixed grill was tasty and my partners octopus with aubergine was an interesting combination. Service was friendly and I'd certainly eat here again.

Our holiday home was about 1k away and we found this place by coincidence. Vicky is very friendly and serves with a smile on her face. She makes you feel realy welcom. Her husband behind the grill, making perfect chicken. A nice place i would recommend!
